Early 2012 is also when every block had a DISGUSTING hipster coffee shop built out of nowhere This point is very true, the rise of hipster culture in 2011 and 2012 also contributes to the start of core 2010s culture. I personally regard 2011 as the year hipsters really entered the mainstream with the release of Portlandia and indie pop like Foster the People and Gotye becoming popular. 2012 only further cemented it as the defining subculture of the decade.

I agree, it was rising in 2008 but came to a bottle rocket late 2011 when it triple jumped to take over pop culture ( unfort)

Disagree. Late 2011/Early 2012 was the earliest signs of the core 10s being implemented but it obviously wasn't core 10s until at least 2013, and even with that, I think it started around mid 2013 realistically (but the cultural mid 10s starting in late 2013). You could make the case for 2012 (specifically the latter end) being core 10s but even with that, I think it's too early. Somewhere in 2013 is the perfect time to start it.
