I was originally going to post this in the "Bands/Artists that deserved to achieve more success", but it wouldn't have made any sense, because Spiderbait were pretty big in Australia. As a result, I decided to create a separate thread about songs which are underrated and should have achieved more success, even if they were released by bands/artists who were/are, in fact, quite popular and have released a string of successful hits.
It's surprising that "Glockenpop" didn't achieve more success than it did. While it may be a bubblegum-pop song from an alternative-rock band, the genre was well embraced by the Australian public, especially when you take into account that artists such as S Club 7 and Five had a number of successful singles in the country. "Glockenpop" only managed to peak at #80 on the ARIA Chart back in 1999. I can only assume that this single wasn't promoted/marketed as effectively.

Have you listened to "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" before? Kevin Parker's vocals sound similar to John Lennon's.

The song reminds me of this song, childish gambino is pretty good and I'm glad he seems to be more mainstream.

I hadn't heard of this song beforehand, but Louise covered it as part of a medley with "Just a Step from Heaven" during the concerts of hers I attended. It's a delightful neo-soul dance jam, and I can clearly see why she of all people loves it so much. It suited her style so well that I would've believed her if she told me it was actually an original song from her upcoming album. It's originally by a trio started by Raphael Saadiq of Tony! Toni! Toné!, but while it flopped in the US, it was a minor hit in the UK, peaking at #20 in late 2000, and was later the source of inspiration for Ed Sheeran's "Don't".

It's probably not the type of song you would expect me to share, but I personally think this is one of the best songs of 2017. I don't understand why this wasn't a bigger hit. It's much better than "What About Us", in my opinion. Australia and Belgium were the only two countries where it charted within the Top-50, peaking at #44 and #47 respectively.

"Evie" holds the distinction of being the only 11-minute song to chart at #1 anywhere in the world. It topped the charts here in Australia back in 1974. Honestly, I think it's an absolute disgrace that it's legacy is only confined to Australia. This should be universally appraised as one of the greatest rock songs of all time, alongside songs such as Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall". Many critics have considered this to be the greatest rock 'n roll song ever. It's simply brilliant.
The song is actually divided into three distinct parts and it tells one coherent story. Part One is a guitar-driven, hard rock song with blues influences. The second part of the song is a emotional ballad based on the piano and strings. Part Three is a disco-inspired rock track with a fast tempo. Honestly, if you haven't listened to this before, I would highly recommend it.

I really don't understand why this song is ridiculed to the extent that it is. It only has a rating of 3.11 on RateYourMusic and most of the reviews are mixed-to-average. Admittedly, i'm not really a fan of Lenny Kravitz's music, but this is quite easily my favourite song of his.
