Man this era kicks ass. I love how powerful Big Tech companies are, and if you say something controversial, you get cancelled and/or shadow-banned. Not to mention all the very peaceful riots that have occurred related to COVID, racism, and Donald Trump.

The music, fashion and everything else is so bad that i'd rather get COVID than being subjected to it every day. 2020s may be a bit dystopian but 2010s is dystopian in it's own way. It's the "everything feels so soulless and artificial" type of dystopian.

It's like if two drug addict fresh out of HS teens EX-convicts who can barely put food on the table have a kid. You don't blame the kid, he/she was born into it. And 2020s are still better in some ways. Music is much better, rock is slowly making a comeback. Fashion is better. Gaming is better now thanks to 9th gen and there is more variety rather than constant soulless cinematic games and dark souls clones. In general there is less of a monoculture now whereas in the 10s people were constantly hyping up dumb internet trends like the "fire challenge"(where people literally set themselves on fire for clicks) or tide pod challenge, shitty games or music or movies. 20s so far has been about trying to bring the 00s back and even a weak imitation of the 00s is much better than the 10s.

Most of the things I hated about the 2010s are still present now. I thought politics were toxic and divisive in the 2010s, but the 2020s have managed to surpass it, especially with the George Floyd protests. In that regard, I thought wokeness in the 2010s was already obnoxious, and that society was too politically correct, but in retrospect, the 2010s are downright libertarian compared to the authoritarian hellscape of the 2020s. Nowadays, I'm genuinely AFRAID of posting anything online in fear I'll get chased down by online mobs or banned for my unpopular opinions and hot takes. I thought minimalism was already awful in the 2010s with bland oversimplified logos, but the 2020s managed to make it worse. The uninspiredness of movies in the 2010s really hasn't changed at all in the early 2020s. We still have superhero movies, we still have Disney's shitty live-action remakes. Fuck, the Mulan remake that came out in 2020 might have been the worst of them all. And worse, movie theaters got shut down, so you had to subscribe to a streaming service to see most of them. Not to mention, we have way too many streaming services nowadays, whereas at least in the core 2010s, you only really had Netflix and Hulu.

i actually like early 2020’s culture i’m not even joking Same. I really enjoy the early '20s, especially 2020. It's a nice change from the dreary late 2010s and it felt new and fresh. I feel like I will look back fondly on this decade in the future. Plus despite everything, it was an era full of growth. Full of adaptations to the change in the world and all that.
