I'm talking about in multiple regards like TV, movies, music, gaming, etc. Which years would you say were way better than the previous year, and which years would you say were worse. Here are my thoughts
Positive (quality improved dramatically)
1990 - 1991 1993 - 1994 1998 - 1999 (only movies and TV) 2000 - 2001 2003 - 2004 (except music) 2009 - 2010 2017 - 2018 (mainly movies)
Negative (quality decreased dramatically)
2007 - 2008 (only music) 2008 - 2009 2010 - 2011 (except TV) 2013 - 2014 (mainly gaming) 2015 - 2016

Music: Positive - 2006, 2013, 2020 Negative - 2009(2008 was 99% 00s style music), 2010, 2016, 2017 Gaming: Positive - 2013, 2020 Negative - 2007, 2009 Internet culture: Negative - 2013, 2016100% agree with you on those. For 2013, I think of Google+ being integrated with YouTube, YouTube changing their layout and getting rid of channel customization, and PewDiePie becoming the most subscribed YouTuber, officially beginning the lets player takeover. For 2016, I think of the start of demonetization on YouTube. Other years I'd mention would be 2017, with the shutdown of Vine, Filthy Frank leaving YouTube, and net neutrality being repealed, 2018, with T-Series becoming the most subscribed YouTuber, marking the end of creator-driven content dominating YouTube, as well as the launch of TikTok, 2012, with the SOPA/PIPA act, shutdown of Megaupload, YouTube changing their layout, YouTube changing their algorithm, and the death of Edd Gould, 2010, with MySpace changing their layout and becoming unpopular, and 2009, with Facebook becoming the most popular social media platform. As for a positive, 2000, with the launch of the Newgrounds flash portal, 2004, with broadband surpassing dial-up in popularity, 2005, with the launch of YouTube and popularization of MySpace and Wikipedia, and 2006, when AVGN and NigaHiga started making videos. 2006-2008 era internet was pretty much perfect IMO.
