IMO it ended Mid 2019 with 2010s shows/movies like Avengers Endgame and Game of Thrones coming to an end whilst simultaneousy TikTok is rapidly growing in popularity and 20s stars like Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X getting big.

2019 is way too late. IMO, the peak 2010s vibes really ended after Trump won the election. It was obviously still 2010s after that but a VERY different kind from the 2012-2015 2010s that even on here seem to be forgotten, but IMO, I’d say those were the REAL 2010s

Late 2010s are still the 2010s. 2019 still having a strong 2010s feeling up until about the halfway point thanks to avengers, GOT and other stuff at it's peak and instagram still being the dominant social media rather than tiktok. Etika was still alive and people were talking about him a lot since he had a breakdown, then he died in june. The second half is sort of like a void where it lost that strong 2010s feeling but the COVID era hadn't started yet. I digress, 2018 isn't like 2008 where the core culture ended when the stock market crashed and a new president got elected.

Mid 2018 no doubt. Late 2018-mid 2019 was not core 2010's BUT it definitely had core 2010's influence. I would say that influence died when 2010's defining shows like Game of Thrones, The Middle, and Modern Family all ended. The MCU as well. It is a stretch to say 2020 had any core 2010's influence at all but in terms of TV shows, it still had some remnants with Modern Family still being on. Overall, the core '10s in my book was from the summer of 2013 to summer of 2018, or just Late 2013 to Mid 2018 (2013-14' to 2017-18' school years).

It's the perfect separation with 2010s presidents. Obama was clearly a classic '10s president and Trump was a modern '10s president. Still 2010s regardless. The 2016 election/Trump's inauguration did not end the core 2010s. Tiktok more or less ended the core 2010s. The earliest sign of the full 2010s-2020s transition. Some could debate 2017-18' had very minor 20s influence but I think 2018-19' was more noticeable with it. Doesn't get 50/50 until sometime in 2020 though.

IMO I think 2017 was when it ended, besides Trump (that was HUGE, it may be the 2010s 9/11 not in terms of casualties but in significance) you also saw the release of the Nintendo Switch, trap music started to get big too, not to mention Charlottesville and the white supremacist march, while Trump said that both sides had "fine people" which really gave off a different vibe from Obama who would've never said something like that.

Going into senior year felt dark for no reason but it was still normal life. It's like as if we sensed something horrible would happen. Like an imminent feeling among us.

If we go by TikTok then somewhere from mid-late 2019 works well. That's when it started overtaking instagram as the dominant social media(for youth culture leastways).

Yeah there was sort of a dark uncertain vibe about it. With greta thunberg shouting about climate change for example. Then again that was a very transitional period for my life so maybe i'm biased. I actually miss it a lot now looking back and not just because of COVID.

Well when I think 2010s, I think Obama, Vine, Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddys, Tumblr, EDM, let’s players, Steven Universe, etc. Basically, you could say I think of mid 2014 to mid 2016 as the peak 2010s period.

Internet activism was a defining part of both sides of the 2010s. It began with Occupy Wall Street, then Ferguson, then the 2016 election, then MeToo, then George Floyd.

I’d say it ended in summer 2018. I see the core 2010s as 2013-mid 2018, or the 2012-13 through 2017-18 school years.
By late 2018, the core 2010s were over. Tiktok was released, early 20s artists like Billie Eillish, Doja Cat, and some others were starting to emerge, gen z had made a name for itself, baggy fashion and some other trends started to emerge and would become popular in the 2020s, airpods were common, and the overall zeitgeist didn’t feel tied to the core 10s anymore. 2018-19 is pure late 10s

Maybe you have a point about air pods though.

I feel like 2014, while mostly mid 10s, seems too early to be peak, but that's just me.
