I've tried to have hope for this era of music but i just dont think music will ever return to its former glory. Music still feels so processed like it did last decade. Songs are catchy and fun to listen to the first couple times but after a while it just feels so repetitive and loud and poor quality like the audible equivalent of junk food. Even pop punk is being watered down and the ones that are considered pop punk aren't really pop punk they borrow a few elements from it. There is very little originality, most songs are rehashes of older eras of music like the 80s and early 2000s. It's not neccesarily bad I guess it's just meh. Most of it at least, there are some good hits that have came out.

We need another over-the-top era for pop music, like the Y2K era and early 10s

With very processed production on top of that. I think it's gotten better over time actually. Back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, autotune was so noticeable, robotic, and terrible-sounding. This song is a PRIME example

I guess it's like CGI, how back when it was new, it was so fake-looking and terrible, but as we've improved the technology, it looks much better and fits in better with the movie.

Every song, hell even some of the ones I like feel completely synthetic and artificial. Music doesn't sound natural anymore.

Every song, hell even some of the ones I like feel completely synthetic and artificial. Music doesn't sound natural anymore. People said the same thing during the 80s with the rise of synthesizers. I think it depends on how the tool is used rather than what tools they use. My main problem with 2010s music isn't even the fact that there's EDM because I like EDM, but rather the fact so much of it sounds generic, manufactured, and overly happy. Tracks like this epitomize my problem with 2010s music.
