I never personally owned one, but I had used an iPod classic, nano, shuffle, touch, and mini.

I had an iPod Classic (5th Gen) from 2005 to 2008, and an iPod Classic (6th Gen) in 2008/2009. Then early in 2010 I got an iPod Touch (3rd Gen) before I finally got a smartphone late in 2010.

I got my iPod Touch exactly in 2010, I still got it. I wish I still had the small original I got in 08 but lost it. iPods are nostalgic as hell and everyone that still has them should cherish them, bruh.

I've still got my $200 iPod Touch that I bought at JB HI FI back in 2010. Haven't used it in years, but if I ever have the sudden urge to play Doodle Jump, I know what to look for.

I still have the iPod Touch I got in 2009. I kept using for browsing until like 2016 or so when it began having functional difficulties. Ie: couldn't be updated, stopped being able to load a lot of sites, ran out of storage, would crash apps, wouldn't sync with computer. I saved about 10,000 images on there, mostly from Tumblr, mostly historical and fashion. When it was still relevant I was always on iTunes and you could say that's where I really discovered music. My iPod Touch is really special to me as it was the first place I had to myself with the privacy to explore whatever I wanted.

I got my first iPod in 2008. A 1st gen itouch (I still have it.) before that I used those little insignia MP3 players and had a subscription to Rapsody. And before that I taped the songs I liked off XM radio to cassettes.
I miss the silhouette iPod commercials. They had some of the best songs.

I got my iPod nano in 2013 and still use it. My car doesn't have a cd player because it's newer so that's all I got. I don't do streaming and really can't with my embarrassingly bad phone service.

Last time I used an mp3 was 2015? I don't miss it tbh, trying to store bought tracks on multiple devices and trying to pirate good quality-sounding shit was a complete headache.
