I don't have any quarms against a revival of 1950s rock 'n roll; Queen did the sound justice when they released "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in 1979. However, not all bands are of the same calibre as Queen and that's when you get songs like this trainwreck of a track, which was released the same year. "Some Girls" is an awfully generic, uninspiring track that is bogged down by it's '50s cliches. There's just nothing I like about this.

A lot of people say 1974 sucked because of this song. The synth sounds like “Daniel” by Elton John but not as good...
and the most popular song of 1977 was one of the worst
And of course, the song that gave disco a bad name..
and the failed follow up...

And for the “Not bad but cheesy: guilty pleasures list.” Some may put these on their worst songs list. Admittedly, I have a high tolerance for cheesy songs {Spoiler My 70s guilty pleasure list}

I don't see how anyone could include "Kung Fu Fighting" into a worst songs of the '70s list. It's a cheesy, harmless bop.

From an 1982 perspective: these were concerned the worst songs of the 70s. Sad that they had to destroy a jukebox in the process.

The 90s too. How many sitcoms back then flashed back to a character’s youth in the 70s to make fun of their clothes or what they said back then? tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IWasQuiteAFashionVictim

Ok, this song is catchy but the lyrics are...uhh let’s just say she’s a little thirsty for Superman...👀

I discovered this song for the first time in a "Top-5 worldwide hits of every year" video I watched a few days ago. This was the UK's entry into the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest, and it would actually become the winning song of Eurovision for that year. There were plenty of great songs that were released during the mid-'70s, but this isn't one of them.

Probably mid-70s cheese at its worst. Utterly sophomoric production, cliche lyrics, amateurish singing processed through several layers of filters, a chorus that falls completely flat, random synth bleeps and bloops. It's like a concoction of everything bad in pop from the era.
And this was a huge hit in the US & Australia, ladies and gentlemen.
