Originally, I did think June 2021 was the shift out of it but it was a deception because of the Delta variant making things worse in the summer and the fall and going right back to COVID times, but the masks weren't enforced like they were in mid 2020 to mid 2021, a.k.a. PEAK COVID (absolute peak being Spring-Summer 2020) Summer 2020 might just be the single most chaotic timeframe of the entire 21st century so far Q2 2020 is since you have the beginning of lockdowns, toilet paper crisis and BLM riots all wrapped in 90 days. July was sort of chill in comparison with the riots calming down and lockdowns lifting for the first time.

>Omegatron lol Idk much about the situation elsewhere but although omicron brought back mask mandates very briefly in december, the end of lockdowns and travel restrictions in june was really the big shift out of COVID over here. In Jan 2022 BJ announced the official end of all lockdowns and restrictions but it was really just a formality at that point. Originally, I did think June 2021 was the shift out of it but it was a deception because of the Delta variant making things worse in the summer and the fall and going right back to COVID times, but the masks weren't enforced like they were in mid 2020 to mid 2021, a.k.a. PEAK COVID (absolute peak being Spring-Summer 2020) There have been variants since June 2021 but they reveal variants like every month so it wasn't much of a surprise. However when it came to restrictions that was basically the end of it and pretty much no one wore masks or social distanced after that besides a brief mask mandate in december.

Sucks because we really had the illusion of coming back to school when shit just got real. It was over for us. We got FUCKED royally as the class of 2020, but frankly we all did. Except the people who actually utilized quarantine and bettered their lives. But for most of us, it sucked. You are kinda right about the summer kinda winding down but things were still full on locked down sort of. Can't believe it's been TWO years since then. Gosh.

I'm class of 2018 so I just narrowly managed to dodge all of that zoom class distance learning fuckery.

Honestly?
I think 2020 to now it's one big shift we're going through, and it won't end until 2024 or 2025

Pretty much, we all got affected by it pretty bad but yeah I'd say we had the worst of it firsthand. Thankfully, we were about to be out so we just had to deal with the online school, but no prom for many was devastating (not for me since I frankly don't care that much about prom) and no graduation was the final blow (I kinda had an in-person graduation but it wasn't the best since we couldn't have it with the entire class at once, it was broken down by career major at my school). That's true that the class of 2021's last few months weren't that bad since they most likely would've gotten a prom and graduation. I would say generationally that the Gen Z start date most likely happens around the class of 2020 or 2021 (or just 2002/2003), personally.

We would use Google Meet and other voice chats to communicate and even with that, it wasn't every class. At my school, they would just post in assignment to Google Classroom everyday and expect us to finish it by 11:59. Barely any classes. We would typically be left alone for the most part. But it was a lot of pointless work. Senioritis hit hard.

My senioritis really kicked in during quarantine so I was pretty lazy with them. I didn't even bother with my final assignments to be honest with you. I do remember not doing a Calculus Tiktok because I thought it was cringe and my grade dropped horrendously. After I did do the little Tiktok, my grade skyrocketed to an A and never went down again. Weird huh? My last day was supposed to be March 13 but I overslept (I fumbled the bag) so it was actually March 12.

No 2021 was pretty much the same as 2020. 2020 was the true shift.

No 2021 was pretty much the same as 2020. 2020 was the true shift. Depends on the area. For some the reverse-shift happened in 2021 like the UK for others early 2022.
