1981 1989 I rewatched "The Fox and the Hound" not too long ago and it has that "old, wholesome with a dark twist" Disney feeling from the 1950s all over it, with even the voice acting and quality feeling particularly dated. Mindblowing to me that it came out in the same decade as the movie that launched the silly, wackier musical style of the Renaissance era. Totally agreed. The characters and even the scenes from The Fox and the Hound feel extremely old school Disney, and it feels really strange to me that it came out the same month as the Go-Gos' debut album, the original Donkey Kong arcade game, and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". It's worth noting that The Fox and the Hound was a transitional film for Disney because it was the final flick that involved the Nine Old Men, who influenced the studio's earlier movies. Additionally, it was the last animated Disney movie released before Michael Eisner took over the company, as well as the last animated Disney film to have all the credits in the opening (with no credit scroll at the end) and start with the blue Buena Vista title card. Even the other pre-Renaissance '80s Disney films feel much more modern by comparison, with The Black Cauldron being darker and edgier (as well as being the first Disney film with CGI), The Great Mouse Detective having markedly clearer audio quality and a more ambitious, action-oriented direction, and Oliver & Company being a musical set in modern-day New York City that features multiple celebrity voices.

2010: Samsung Galaxy S 2019: Samsung Galaxy S10 The radical difference in design Eh, the difference is honestly not radical at all in my eyes. Many popular smartphones today still use those three buttons at the bottom as that 2010 smartphone uses, and a lot of the apps are the same. It's nothing like the difference in cellphones between 2000 and 2009;

1950
1959
The '50s was hands down the decade when the music industry became more youth-oriented, and shifted away from the "formality" of the previous decades.

Maybe i'm in the minority, but I actually prefer the look of the Samsung Galaxy S over the S10. Most modern smartphones are too big for my liking. That's actually part of the reason as to why I have had my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini for so long, though I am getting a new smartphone for my birthday in two days. Anyway, I do agree that there isn't a huge drastic difference between the two of them. The smartphones from the start of the 2010s may have been smaller and had less features, however there isn't a 'day and night' difference between them and ones which were released in 2019.

Yeah tbh the fact that we even had smartphones ten years ago makes the difference a lot less drastic than the prior decade. And I swear many would’ve stayed functional had they been continually supported.

20102019I guess it's funny how both edges of the decade had its own social media-driven subcultures.

Making Home Movies in 1980: Making Home movies in 1989: (Granted more well to do folks had those cameras during their times So average people in 1980 were more likely still using Super-8 sound film, and average people in 1989 more likely used those full sized VHS cameras)

It's just that as a Zoomer, I really liked the changing of different form factors throughout the 2010s decade. It's still significant to my eyes. At least phones became more bezelless by the late 2010s.
