If you could change certain elements of 2010s pop culture, what would you change and what would remain the same? The 2010s are a very divisive decade and it's a decade that you either love or loathe. Things I Would Change:* This would have been one of the biggest hits of 2012 and a generation-defining anthem. * Pop-Punk would have made a massive comeback into the mainstream in Mid 2016, with Blink-182's and Green Day's new albums. Interestingly enough, Blink 182's lead single, "Misery", actually peaked at #50 on the ARIA Chart last year. * Royal Blood would be one of the biggest bands of the 2010s and this would be one of the Top-10 hits of 2017. In reality, Royal Blood have topped the album charts in many countries, however none of their singles have achieved Top-50 chart success. * There wouldn't be so many sequels and reboots. * People wouldn't be so addicted to smartphones and social media. * The Late 2010s would be defined by protests, and media about the current times. People would rally together and use music, television and movies as ways to spread their anti-Trump messages across. Things I Wouldn't Change:* The Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the most popular franchises in the movie industry. * The current state of Television. While it could be more diverse, television has generally been quite good this decade. * Progression of LGBT rights. Everyone deserves to marry the love of their life and it's good that more countries are beginning to legalise same-sex marriage.

I forgot to include this one in my earlier post, but something else I wouldn't change, would be social media and the current state of the internet, in general. I don't actually have an issue with the social media websites themselves. It's just that I wish people weren't so addicted to them and could go a day without actually having to go on one.

I would change some of the fashion styles of this decade. Some of it does not interest me much really.
The hip hop and rap genre. While I do love that the genre is more popular then ever and to a lot more races, I just can't get into some of the sound of current rap and hip hop. It just sounds silly or flat out awful to me.
For pop songs of the late 2010s to be more up beat sounding like earlier this decade.
And also basics like getting rid of the bigotry that still goes on in my country.
all in all though I still like this decade and I'm proud to be in it.

I tend to agree in regards to the fashion styles. None of it appeals to me. Mind you, I've never really followed what the newest "trends" are in fashion. I still prefer to wear my baggy-looking jeans, instead of wearing "tight jeans" (which have been popular this decade). They may not be the "in" thing anymore, but that doesn't worry me. In relation to rap, I agree and I say that as someone who doesn't like hip-hop anyway. The '90s and 2000s were much better times for the genre, in terms of creativity and overall quality.
