Personally, I started to see the late 2010s atmosphere with Gamergate/Tumblr SJWs in 2014 thanks to millennials. true the mid and late 10s kinda blend together a bit, just minus the hipster stuff.

I still think the 2010s was a very consistent decade. Kinda like the 1980s. 90s and 00s were opposite with how many changes they were. I think 20s will be more like the 90,s and 00s for changes and the 10s will be remembered as quite consistent.

2016 was just more in your face but the political tension was there for a while since around 2013.

Quite the opposite, I see more and more posts as time goes on about the "club era" in the early 10s or how "everything changed in 2016".

The true shift was in 2020, that's when people stopped going to the clubs. 2016 was nowhere near as big of a shift as 2013. And even then, it's not like the early 2010s felt like a different world compared to the late 2010s. It started feeling like a different world in 2020. 2010s all felt relatively similar. More people will see this in hindsight I think.

I think you downplay a lot of events that changed the trajectories of things that happened in the 2010s
