I have an idea, how about we start advertising this forum on reddit. i'm not saying paying for ads, just sharing about it over there

Good idea going back to basics, and ProBoards' version 5, since when you logout the screen freezes!

Wow, I haven't posted on here in 18 months 😲
I think I dropped off because a lot of the pop culture related topics being discussed on here I didn't know much about, or I wasn't really interested in. Most of my pop culture interest is centred around music, and I feel like there was less music related discussion on here. I also felt like losing some quality contributors that allowed for discussion to flow didn't help things.
It looks like we have a little bit more music discussion so I might drop in sometimes.

Lot of good discussion and theorizing in this thread. I basically agree with what's been said. It is sad and stressful how obsolete Popedia seems now. One of the reasons for me being I basically gotten everything digested from discussion forums in terms of pop culture. And many of us has gotten older since the pandemic so we moved on from nostalgia discussions that really appealed to us overall.
We may need to see a new pandemic if we want to possibly see activity on either boards again and that's a stretch because Reddit is a strong competitor. It seems like everything Popedia and InThe00s try to do is old while Reddit somehow feels more fresh in all the right places. Another thing, Popedia definitely won't last if the admin is self approve inactive who's supposed to run his/her site. That's a sure fail.
