Not really. I mean if it's with 6 people or people I know then yes, but if it's with a group of 20-30 people I hate it, because i'm a extremely shy and awkward person when it comes to social gatherings...

One thing that I find really annoying about social gatherings, is that everyone puts on a persona and smiles at every little comment someone makes, even if they don't actually care about what is being said. It really annoys me and I can't fake how I really feel about a certain situation. Not really. I mean if it's with 6 people or people I know then yes, but if it's with a group of 20-30 people I hate it, because i'm a extremely shy and awkward person when it comes to social gatherings... I'm much the same way. I generally don't go out of my way to have small-talk with other people, particularly if I don't know them. I'm just worried that i'm going to be judged.

Yes I do. I think they're known as orgies.

I'm going to a mate's 18th birthday party in three days time, so this is something I have been thinking about over the past few days. Do you enjoy going to social gatherings or do you try to avoid going to them, if possible? I don't really enjoy going to social gatherings, because i'm not really a "people" person. I like catching up with a few of my friends from time to time, but going to parties with 10+ people doesn't interest me at all. I do and I don't if that makes sense. I'm happy when I do have an outing with a friend or small group. I look forward to twice monthly game nights where I've been playing D&D and feel bad that due to work running late, I had two skip two of them as catching up on sleep was the priority. It's just when things run into overtime and it's hard to stay awake or things get too offtrack, that's when I've had enough of it for the night. Still, I'll stick it out until the session is over because don't get me wrong, I do have fun. The kind of gatherings I don't care for are when there's nobody to talk to about anything or I don't know anyone and I get uncomfortable being there. It's why I hate having to attend concerts solo, but I will anyway if I really want to see a certain act. Yeah, sometimes I will find a couple people to chit chat with during the wait, but I feel super uncomfortable standing quietly in line while everyone around me is in groups all talking among themselves. Once inside it's not as bad. I hate to go months on end without doing anything or seeing anybody.
