Holy emos, Batman! Yep, I had turned 19 the previous month and was almost halfway through college. Good times.

I have tons of nostalgia of that year. It felt so modern and new.
Now speaking of PSAs (we were talking about them in a thread about 2001) I found a really creepy one from a campaign warning parents about lead paint in houses built before 1978, and how they could get on your child's hands and make them sick:
It's quite creepy. Imagine being, say, a six or seven year old in 2009 watching TV before you have to go to bed, and then this comes on. It only aired in New York as far as i'm concerned.

I would have been 19 at the time when this commercial was on and it would have given me goosebumps. Yeesh. You don’t see PSAs like that anymore. Even in 2009, I didn’t see many creepy ones like that compared to earlier in the decade.
