To compliment the thread RockyMountainExtreme made, what is the most underrated decade for rock music? I personally think the 2000s are the most underrated decade for rock music. Unfortunately, whenever people think of rock music from the 2000s, they generally think of bands such as Nickelback or Creed. There were a lot of great rock songs that were released during the decade, yet they are often overlooked in favour of critically acclaimed songs from previous decades. The 2010s would arguably be the most underrated decade, considering that the genre has largely been absent from the mainstream. I would vote for the 2010s, however i'm honestly not familiar with a lot of the underground scene.

I agree, I think the 2000’s are the most underrated. It was also the last time rock was really popular.

The 2010s I guess, even if it's not in the mainstream anymore it's still pretty much popular to certain groups of people.. So idk. You should really give underground rock music I try tho, there's surprisingly a lot of good stuff XD

It's definitely the 2010's. Contrary to popular belief, rock music is still alive, it's just not in the mainstream anymore. These days, you really have to look hard to find rock, but there are plenty of good songs out there. {Spoiler}https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC93KhZRxUw

I LOVE THAT SONG. I HAVEN'T HEARD IT SINCE LIKE 2015 THANKS FOR POSTING IT. Anyway, I agree that the 2010's have good rock music, but it's underrated because it's not as popular as it was in previous decades.

It's my top played song on my 2010s rock music playlist. Yep, you said it! Nowadays the main genre is hip hop and/or EDM and the lack of rock in the charts makes people consider it the worst decade for rock while overlooking the underappreciated rock songs that came out. This is one of the best yet underrated decades for rock indeed.

Bring Me The Horizon is one of the best rock bands of the 2010s. They've been in the rock game since about 2004 and they're still going strong today! Their best album in my opinion is That's The Spirit. They deserve more fame.

I would honestly even go as far to say that the 2010's have better rock music than the 2000's. I think it has to do with rock music not being as popular as it was the previous decade. When you hear a song a lot, eventually you get tired of it and start to dislike it. Mainstream rock songs usually just follow the mainstream music trends, which can also be kind of tiring. But since rock music in the 2010's isn't really popular, artists have to actually put in their work and effort when making rock songs to appeal to people.

I'll definitely give underground rock music more of a listen. This would have to be one of my favourite underground rock songs of the 2010s. It was actually featured on FIFA 13:
