Yuck! I’d hate to see how it looks for those people. You’d missed parts of the picture due to overscan. Either that or watching on letterbox mode - I did that for a while (because I wanted to see the full 16.9/widescreen picture - at a time when TV networks were still kind of catering to 4.3 viewers! ) but believe me it isn't nearly as good as watching a proper widescreen TV!

I've replaced my CRT/4:3 TV to a flat screen TV in mid 2010 after my CRT TV actually blew up.

My family replaced the living CRT with a flat screen in 2009 and we gotta Blu-Ray play as-well. I still had a CRT in my bedroom, hell I still have it today, I have my Xbox 360, PS2, and GameCube connected to it, while I have my Nintendo Switch & Wii U hooked up to the living room flat screen.

I replace them before they completely die. Not like ‘fireball’ blow up, I press the power and the CRT internals just made a loud pop and it didn’t smell really pleasant after! 😛

I switched from CRT to flatscreen in August 2011, which was around the time of my 12th birthday.
