The place to discuss anything to do with public transport (there's no specific thread for this yet that I can see). Ferry McFerryface will be renamed May Gibbs.NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance has announced that one of six new Sydney ferries, named "Ferry McFerryface", will be renamed, following revelations his unpopular choice was a captain's pick rather than a public favourite. www.smh.com.au/nsw/ferry-mcferryface-fail-leaves-andrew-constance-redfaced-20180130-h0qpm5.html

How embarrassing for the Transport Minister Andrew Constance! I’m sure he feels like an utter tool now. What was he thinking?

It's pretty ridiculous that the ferry was named "Ferry McFerryface" to begin with. I agree, the revelation is quite embarrassing for Andrew Constance. Pretty incompetent governance.

6 new subway stops were opened in the Toronto area a few weeks ago, the first since the early 2000s. About time! My city created a bus lane on the busiest road too, opened up a few months ago. Except for one stretch of road, I haven't really got to use the full thing. But that stretch of road used to take 20 minutes to take a left turn on, and now it doesn't take any time at all, so that's great! There's also an enclosed heating area. We need that every stop!!

The new subway stop looks good! It's good to see that Toronto is investing money into their public transport network. That's the bus stop/lane they built in my city  The subway is underground.

Andrew Constance is an embarrassment to the state of NSW. Not just because of the Ferry McFerryFace" debacle, but also because of the disgraceful status of the train network which lead to the strikes which almost but didn't quite happen on Monday.
I really hope Constance gets voted out in March 2019, if he doesn't step aside/get sacked before then.

Honestly, I don't understand why anyone would even consider going against public vote and appoint a name based on personal choice. Why would you do it? He would have known that it would damage his political career and reputation.
