Probably a odd idea for a thread, but sometimes a first impression can really linger over an entire song. In some cases, it gets you properly warmed up to adore something otherwise average, but in others, the tone is set so badly at the start that it haunts everything else. Here's my top 5 least favourite song intros, which I can think of off the top of my head:
5.
Word of advice, don't trick your listener into thinking their CD is broken as part of your first impression.
4.
I already just mentioned this in another thread, but the combination of overpowering bass drums, an obnoxious electro-bell sound effect, and no melodic supplement starts this song on quite the wrong foot, indeed.
3.
Something about an amplified harmonica solo on its own just does not sound pleasant to my ears. I suppose I'm not surprised this trick has hardly been used in anything else.
2.
An absolute disaster of a song, in no small part thanks to a shrill, fragmented, noisy first several seconds.
1.
This was a completely pointless cover of a fairly mediocre disco song, but it certainly made its impact with an opening synthesizer that burns my eardrums and then a sloppy stumble into the first chorus.

I like the idea of this thread. I'll try to think of a few more, but here is one example for now:
Admittedly, I consider the intro of "Why I'm Here" to be quite underwhelming. I don't mind the rest of the song, however the intro doesn't connect with me in the same way that plenty of other alternative-rock songs do. The intro is a half-hearted effort and it doesn't help matters that the chords are strikingly similar to Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box".

The first few seconds of both of these songs are really awkward and do not get them started on the right foot, even though the tracks themselves are fine enough:
