I learnt a new word today: "Kindy" Haha. Australians have a habit of abbreviating almost anything. For instance, McDonalds is commonly known as "Maccas" and a service (gas) station is often called a "servo".

Have you watched this YouTube video before? It's two guys who list all of the popular Australian slang and abbreviations. They even appeared on Today a few months back. It's definitely worth watching!
