Since we only have one year left in the 2010's, what are some differences you have noticed between the year 2010 to now?
One of the main differences I can think of is smartphones. In 2010, blackberry phones were still common and it wasn't considered odd to have a digital camera as they were still very common back then.
Another major thing that has changed was the music. Back in 2010, Electropop was at its peak, artists like Ke$ha were extremely popular, hip-hop still had that late 2000's influences sound to it, nowadays it is mainly Trap.
Fashion has also seemed to change. Back in 2010, long hair on guys was still common, scene fashion was still quite common, nowadays it is mainly hipster.
What are some differences you've noticed?

This photo really sums up how outdated 2010 is now:
This was from the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. No one is using a smartphone to capture the event.

I actually remember seeing this photo before and it's quite surprising how hardly anyone had a smartphone. In my area, people either used the smartphones from the late 2000's, used a blackberry phone, or a digital camera.

No difference to me as I have no interest in 21st century popular culture.

I thought I'd bump this thread since the 2010s are nearly over.

*Smartphones were basic and still had their own design *Call of Duty was at it's peak and Minecraft wasn't huge *Obama was president *The peak of electopop *8 year olds played video games and watched TV instead of going on YouTube, uploading Fortnite montages and/or making/watching Gacha Life videos *Fortnite didn't exist *Kids watched cartoons on cable instead of streaming services and tablets *Gaming was much less monetized and we were still in the 7th generation of gaming *Most kids could live without a phone *YouTube relied more on personalities than companies

*8 year olds played video games and watched TV instead of going on YouTube, uploading Fortnite montages and/or making/watching Gacha Life videos I'm not sure about this. I feel like by 2010 a lot of eight year olds and even nine and ten year olds were on YouTube.

He never said that one was better than the other. You're just applying your own opinions to his statement.

Sounds like our “childhood was better than theirs” statement. He never said that one was better than the other. You're just applying your own opinions to his statement. What I was saying is not trying to make our childhood better than yours. It's based on what I have seen, plus you were 8 in 2012, not 2019. When I think of the Gacha Life and Fortnite fanbase I think of today's 8 year olds, and I can tell many users of those things are like 8, 9, 10, you know. While I still think that 8 year olds had better kid stuff in the early 2010s I don't think that late 2010s 8 year olds are all awful brats (though there's some that are). My cousins are 9 and 7 and they're nice and playful.
