I was born on January 4th, 2002, only four days after 2001 ended. 2001 is a better birth year than 2002 by far. 2001 was so iconic and it was the first year of the 21st century.
Can I still call myself a 2001 baby? I mean someone born four days after 1964 might still want to call themselves Baby Boomers because they're only off by a few days and it's really tricky.

Lol, my dad was actually born 6 days after 1964😂. Anyways, why do you wish you were born in 2001? You are correct that 2001 was a pretty good year, especially in pop culture but 2002 was just as good imo. Also, 2002 is cool because backwards it's also 2002, and only you guys and 1991ers can say that

Being born in 2001 would make me feel older, being born in 2002 makes me feel too young.

As someone born in 2001, let me just say that you aren't missing out on much. Besides, 2002 still sounds like an "old" or classic" year. In fact, sometimes I wish I was born in 1999 or 2000 just so I could say that I was born in the 20th century. But honestly though, who cares. The only cool fact about those born in 2001 that I can think of is that we are the last to be convinced/alive in the 2nd millennium and first to be born the 3rd. In 10-20 years when we're further into the century, people probably won't see much of a difference between the late 90's and early 2000's.

In a few years time, 2002 will be perceived as being a "classic" year and people born in 2002 won't be viewed as still being "kids". It's all perspective. In the Early 2010s, people my age were viewed as still being really young, but now it's not really the case.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm fully aware this is complete nonsense that doesn't matter at the end of the day.
I'm 16 now and I'm getting to the point were I want to turn 18 or at least feel really close to it, hence why I kinda want to a few days older to have been born in 2001, whom are turning 17 this year.
I'm good.

I'm good. No worries. To be honest, I think everyone has a certain point in their life where they wish they were older than they actually are. There's nothing wrong with that at all. Time will go quick and you'll be turning 18 before you know it!

I'm good. You may feel this way in your teens and 20s, but I'm pretty sure once you get to your 30s/40s/50s you'll be wishing you were younger

Anyways 2001-2003 all sound like classic or early century years to me so it doesnt seem to be a big deal.

It's strange to think of the Early 2000s as being "retro". In a way, it makes me feel a bit old.

Even if you were born that year it's not like you would've remembered it? :s
I was born 1993, but I don't have much relation with that year beyond that. Sure, the Sega vs. Nintendo wars and 4th generation gaming were at their peak, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers took the nation by storm, and Jurassic Park hits theatres, but had these events occurred in 1994 instead, would I have really noticed? I don't think so.

Well I have the same thought too because all 90's babies are discriminate to us born in 1999
