Well, I will say most of the 90s nostalgia this decade also came from mostly the early-mid part, with the late part only picking up lately. Especially in the early-2010s it was all about Nirvana, Nirvana and Gangsta Rap, and Nirvana while late-90s were mostly ignored because they were technically still a little too recent and weren't maybe as exotic to look back at as the early-mid 90s were (which is something they completely are now). I can see the same happening for the 2000s. I agree. Even though, I would have expected there to already be some sort of nostalgia for the Mid-Late 2000s, especially seeing as though people born in the Late '90s and Early 2000s were kids at the time and now a lot of the current Top-40 musicians (e.g Shawn Mendes, Khalid) were born in the Late '90s. Young people are generally the driving force for pop culture, so i'm just surprised that Mid/Late 2000s nostalgia hasn't yet entered the mainstream.

Late 90s nostalgia has been prelevent throughout this decade with pokemon genwunners, dragon ball z and the wrestling community who can't move past the attitude era. I remember back in 2010-12 I would hear people talk about how much they miss the late 90s.

I don't think they're under appreciated, they're just not talked about a lot since they weren't a very long time ago.

The late 2000s still feel too recent, esp 2009To those who were born in the 90s it does but to 2000s borns who were still in elementry school it feels very dated. Since 2000s borns completly taken over high school, late 00s nostagla should be expected.

I think people underestimate how dated the late 2000's are. You can use your weak argument "But you were only a little kid so of course it feels dated to you". But Obama, George W. Bush, The Iraq War, the first iPhone, Flip phones, scene fashion, the recession, early YouTube, and electropop doesn't sound like 2018 at all. The late 2000's (and the entire 2000's decade) is worlds away from 2018 where Trump is president, iPhones are evolving, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter are the popular social media, trap music is popular, etc.

Well until KB toys comes back next month for those pop ups

The late 00s has been noticeably dated since 2016, when Trump got elected. 2009 does feel somewhat modern since it was the rise of Twitter, Vevo, Bing and Skype. All which became prevelent in the 2010s

They are. Not many people recognize them as an era and the early 00s are far more popular than the mid-late 2000s
