Forum Rules & Guidelines by SharksFan99
As a public forum, Popedia has rules and guidelines set in place. Most people do the right thing, however it is essential that these rules and guidelines are still followed, as it ensures stability and a pleasantry experience on the forum.

Always Be Civil

Popedia prides itself on being a community for everyone to enjoy and it is expected that members act in a sensible and appropriate manner. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Respect each other. It's important to keep in mind that there is a person behind every single post. Don't harass others, expose other's private information or impersonate others. Be mindful of others.

  • Be Civil. Don't post offensive, abusive or hate speech. If you think your post may be viewed as being offensive, don't share it.

  • Keep it Clean. Sexually explicit or obscene posts are not tolerated.

  • Respect our forum. By joining our community, you are expected to treat the forum and community in a respective manner. Do NOT post SPAM or vandalise the forum.

  • Constructive Criticism Only. Do not criticise others for the sake of it. If you disagree with someone else's post and want to share your thoughts, always respect their opinion and criticise their opinion in a constructive manner. Do NOT criticise the person.

  • All beliefs and viewpoints are embraced. To add on from the previous point, please don't expect everyone else on the forum to have the exact same beliefs and values as you. Popedia is a community which embraces and accepts people from all walks of life. Someone is entitled to share their own beliefs, even if you personally don't agree with them.

If you're unsure if your post complies, ask yourself how you would feel if someone was directing it at you. Would you be offended by it? It's important to think of your discussion with others as being a conversation you would have with someone face-to-face.

If You See a Problem, Flag It

Moderators are here to help you, not to harass you. They are responsible for maintaining the status-quo of the forum.

However, you play just as an important role on the forum. When you see bad behavior, don’t reply. It encourages the bad behavior by acknowledging it, consumes your energy, and wastes everyone’s time. Just flag it. If enough flags accrue, action will be taken, either automatically or by moderator intervention.
If one of your posts was flagged by the community and you don't agree with the decision, please feel free to message one of the moderators. They can explain to you why your post was flagged and the reasoning behind their action. However, please be respectful of the moderators. Any messages that are not respectful and appropriate in their tone, will either be ignored or deleted.

In order to maintain our community, moderators reserve the right to remove any content and any user account. However, this is only done if it is warranted and there is a reason behind removing the post. Moderators do not preview new posts in any way; the moderators and site operators take no responsibility for any content posted by the community. If you are unsure of who the moderators are, check out the "Staff" webpage. It can be found in the "About" drop-down menu.

You Make a Difference

Help us make Popedia a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. Your opinion matters and we want to hear it! If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later. One way to improve the discussion is by discovering popular topics. Please spend some time browsing the topics here before replying or starting your own, and you’ll have a better chance of meeting others who share your interests.

Everyone is Equal

Although we may have moderators and staff members, one of the key elements of Popedia is that everyone is treated fairly and equally. There are some forums in which the moderators use their extra privileges to disregard the regular members and dismiss their inquiries. This will NEVER be the case on the Popedia Forums and any staff members who continuously choose to act in the same manner will have their privileges revoked. If you have any inquiries, please don't be afraid to ask the moderators and staff members of the forum. They will be happy to help you.
