What are some websites pass their peak or no longer active you used to go to or wish you experienced? I find my self wishing I actively experienced Myspace in its heyday. Running into YouTube comments on recent songs of nostalgia, I get this sudden feel I potentially missed something.
A site I used to go to is Anivide, a anime community site I found out about when we were migrating from YouTube's panda layout. 2012-2014 was an amazing time to be apart of the site, it lost its original website name to Anispace and is literally inactive as of late.

Livejournal, Xanga, MySpace, YTMND, EZboard, iconator, Webshots, geocities, stickam, Joost, Govteen, Google Video, Ubersite, ForwardGarden, Epinions, JumpTheShark, Quizilla, I remember this one social media site I used to go on where people would make pages for their cars. This was around 2004. But I can’t remember the name of the site.

I also remember this one message board in the mid/late 2000s called “Catsonmars” where people would post people’s bad cosplay pictures and make fun of them. At the time I thought it was funny, (never posted there only read) but looking back it was a bit toxic. I’ve matured as a person since 2005.

Gamespot was popping was from 2004-2009.
Habbo Hotel in 2001-2006 and Runescape in 2004/2005 too. They were a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, Retrojunk. That site has been slowly dying too. it seems that only a few Xennials ever post there anymore. Too much “everything that is slightly out of my childhood isn’t retro” type gatekeeping went down there. The Y2K era got bashed heavily there. This is where I found this post at:

Geez, I had completely forgotten about that site. I used frequent the place quite often back in the day. I first discovered it back in 2006/07 from memory. Pretty sure I mainly watched old cartoon intros that were uploaded that I used to watch when I was younger (this was just prior to me using YT).

I'm not sure if anyone else here remembers this, but I kind of miss Nickshak. There used to be a feature on the site where you could create your own "Clickheads" and if you were lucky, your clickhead would actually be shown on Nickelodeon. A friend of mine introduced me to the site when I was over his house back in 2009. I had pretty much stopped watching kids shows by the time I was 10, but the Nickshak was so much fun to use. Eventually I created an account when I was 11 and I would sometimes use it for hours; it was like a social media site for pre-teens.

Myspace in it's heyday was all about customizing your page. Fine if you had anything better than dial up, which crashed due to the overload of blinking graphics people thought they needed. I've had to restart the computer several times due to that. It was more fun than Facebook though and had forums and chats and things, but due to my crappy connection I couldn't access those. So in a way I missed out too. Deviantart is the most recent past it's prime social media I would use, then they changed the layout and it doesn't work on desktop with older browsers. On my phone it will.

YouTube's layout was recently changed for the worst. The advancement of the video thumbnail moving before you click is so dumb. Why Google won't give us the option to turn back is absolutely a mystery to me.

I used to go on moviestarplanet during 2012-2013. It was addicting but mostly kid orientated so I won't be going back to it
