NOLA could actually be the most 2000s city ever. Not only were they the most hard-hit city by Katrina, but they also embody the kind of suburban heterosexual black culture that permeated the 2000s. Disney's Princess and The Frog was also set there. Oh, and Lil Wayne, and all the Cash Money rappers in general.

Holy shit Louisiana and Florida are both swamp states And guess where Shrek takes place... That only further adds to my theory of why Florida is the most 2000s state of all time. It's the only state where you can drive from a swamp to a beach in less than an hour in an exotic car and it WOULD NOT look weird or out of place.

If Florida is the most 2000’s state, what would be the most 2010’s state? It's either California or Oregon/Washington. Basically the west coast.

I put my money on Texas.

I put my money on Texas. Probably a rural state that's fast-growing, since COVID-19 has resulted in many moving to rural areas. My guess would probably be Vermont. That state is practically immune from most of the bullshit plaguing this decade. It has a great healthcare system, very liberal, sparsely populated and spread out (which is great for COVID), is very unlikely to get hurricanes or wildfires, and probably didn't have lots of BLM protests (due to having lots of white people and being rural, though please don't assume I'm being racist because I do support BLM).

The southern states are always 20 years behind so yes The 2000s do have a very Southern vibe in general actually, which probably had to do with Outkast blowing up in the decade. ...but they were popular in the 90s too. But ATL was def a huge player in 2000s hip hop with Crunk, Snap, early Trap... Bigger than NY and LA I'd say. Houston and St. Louis (not southern but they had a southern flavour) were big too back then.

The other states that are very representative of the 2000s in my opinion are Texas, Louisiana, and New JerseyTexas is where George W Bush and Dell are from, and has lots of malls and a long coastline. Whilst New Jersey is a blue state, if ANY state is going to be representative of the "malls, suburbs, and beaches" culture of the 2000s, it HAS to be New Jersey. Louisiana is among the most conservative, homophobic states in the country, and is the home of Britney Spears and Lil Wayne. The state was also hit hard by Katrina. Florida is still easily the most 2000s state though. Florida is the 2000s in state form. My state!!! malls in every corner the eye can see

Florida does have a 00’s vibe, it helps the only time I visited Florida during my childhood is when I was 5 in 2006 on a trip to Disney so Florida always has me thinking of that time lol. I probably wouldn’t want to visit now because it definitely likely wouldn’t have as good of a vibe as it did when I last visited, I wanna keep the childhood feel.

The northern half being the suburbs of NYC and the southern half being the suburbs of Philly, lol. The Sopranos was like the biggest show of the 2000s, too... A show about a suburban NJ guy who happens to be a mob boss.

Florida was also hit the hardest during the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. And also hit really bad by the Great Recession
