That is to say, what's the latest song that became a hit that would NOT become a hit in the following decade, in any given era? Here are my picks
1990s
2000s
2010s

2000s: 2010s: There's still songs that sound 2010s coming out The point of the thread is what is the last song from each decade that doesn't sound like a hit from the following decade, not "what is the last decade-sounding song" in general.

All these 2010s songs you people listed could've easily comed out in 2020, 2021 or this year
These wouldn't come out today, they were the last 2010s songs
This one is the last recent hit song that sounds 100% pure 2010s to me, and would never come out in 2020+

Maybe some controversial opinions:
1960s - #9 Dream by John Lennon (1974)
The US really missed John Lennon in 1974 apparently since his solo career really took off that year. This one reached the top 10 but it feels oddly very psychedelic for the charts back then. Pretty much a throwback to his late 60s and 1970 material.
1970s - Say Say Say by Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson (1983)
The very last big hit to have a connection to classic disco.
1980s - I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That) by Meat Loaf (1993)
The very last big hit to have a connection to classic arena rock, and by one of the artists that pioneered the sound that is.
1990s - I Can by Nas (2003)
The very last big hit to have a connection to boom bap and golden age hip hop in general.
2000s - Mirrors by Justin Timberlake (2013)
The very last big hit to have a connection to Timbaland's brand of progressive R&B.

If we're talking last songs to have the style of their decade, for 80s rock, I think it's this
In fact, I literally used to think this was an 80s song. I just associate this brand of hard rock love/breakup ballads strongly with the 80s. The hair styles and cars CERTAINLY don't help

It sounds different from their actual 80s rock ballad, especially with the hard gated drums.
