I think it's possible we could see more government control over the entertainment industry if Trump wins the 2020 election. A lot of people want laws to force the return 1950s-type entertainment (think I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver) as well as crack down much harder on explicit content. I think we could see a law forbidding the portrayal of non-traditional, non-heterosexual families and relationships on TV or in movies. I think there's a good chance that could be where we are headed. I think state-controlled media is also in our future. The US will probably absorb Fox News and then crack down on the other 24-hour news networks. I also think the US could split when the economic collapse hits, which will probably be within the next 3-5 years. This one is going to be nasty. The northern states will either join Canada or become a new social democracy and the South will be a balkanized collection of theocratic states, likely 'A Handmaid's Tale' level oppression. You describe the US like its the only the country in the world.

The only way such a move would be possible would be if major changes were made to the US Constitution, and even then, there's no guarantee that it would pass through the House of Congress.

Parts of Sydney here in Australia have 5G.

I have a feeling we're going to have a lot of roaring 20s memes and memes pushing jazz revivals once we reach 2020. Wouldn't be surprised if that started this December, haha. Although If it does actually happen, they'll probably die fast like memes always do.

AFL rights in 2022 will be on another FTA channel as well as 7, hopefully 10. Maybe even Kayo might get exclusive matches of AFL/NRL

I now firmly believe the 2020s is going to be the decade of Great Depression 2.0. The world will look very different in 2030 than it does now. Get ready for years of high unemployment, low wage growth, and potential civil unrest, not over racial tensions but over economic anxiety.

Surely, something good must occur at any rate, isn't that so?

Less than two hours to go. Predictions right now for the 20's:
Morality groups make strides in politics The economy booms and middle class expands Women's fashion gets far more revealing Jazz becomes the most popular musical genre Alcohol consumption increases Shady business practices eventually destroy the banks

Free-to-air television will be almost dead in Australia in 2025. Sport being the major exception.

Cable TV will eventually die thanks to streaming services.
