I was just thinking @slowpoke1993, do you or anyone else remember the virtual pet craze in the Tamagotchis, Digimons etc? These were huge back in the 90s and seemingly everyone had one!

I had a tamagotchi dog I called Elvis. I am subscribed to a website for virtual pets and I now have Bruce the ferret, Milo the horse, Ellis the cat, Elvis the spider and Siegfried the wolf.

I had a tamagotchi as a kid during the Mid 2000s. I'm pretty sure I've still got it too!  I think tamagotchis were still popular up until around 2006/07, if I remember correctly.

Yes, I had the Digivice! I took it everywhere! Yeah. I had the same Digimon in the video shown above (as I previously mentioned, I wasn’t so much into Digimon but everyone else had one and didn’t want to be left out, as you do! ). I also had an alien and later a dog Tamagotchi if I recall correctly. I remember due to the huge popularity of these they were banned in most Primary Schools. They were deemed a massive distraction to us kids then (and teachers really didn’t like them either). Despite this, me and most of my friends and classmates still secretly took ours to school to play at recess and lunch and just hoped we never got caught (from memory I did a couple of times though ). I had a tamagotchi as a kid during the Mid 2000s. I'm pretty sure I've still got it too! I think tamagotchis were still popular up until around 2006/07, if I remember correctly. Yep. They were still fairly popular in the 2000s, but they were insanely popular in the late-90s.

I'm a bit surprised that Tamagotchi's haven't made a bit of a comeback, especially seeing as though '90s nostalgia has been quite prominent this decade.

Yet again another example here of what’s old is new. After seeing a Toyworld ad this evening I wasn’t aware of them making a comeback. Though, there was a story about it months ago that I somehow missed it. It will be interesting to see the public response to these. Will it be a case of a previous decades fad that should’ve remained where it left; in the past? I might be proven wrong on this, but I actually think Tamagotchis will make a relatively successful comeback. You'll get 20-something year olds who will buy a new Tamagotchi just for the nostalgic value. I personally had a Tamagotchi when I was a kid, although I have no plans on buying a new one.

I had one!! ... I had two, actually, but the first one spoiled.
The v4 was my first one and I loved it, as well as the v4.5 which I got next I didn't like the v6 or any later ones where you raise like 3 pets at a time
Back then I wanted to grow up ASAP so I could buy my own Tamagotchi and play it without any adults telling me off, but now that I can actually do that, I've honestly forgotten about it

Can you remember which characters you had? I used to be obsessed with them back in the day but I really can’t see myself buying one of these new/old releases.

I think I got my Tamagotchi back in 2004, so I would have been about 5. I can't really remember now. Either way, I know for a fact that I was either 5 or 6 when I got it. I'd much rather have a real pet I agree. Do you have any pets? I own an 11 year old Golden Labrador and a 2-year old staffy-cross.
