This was probably already brought up some time ago, but if you ever decided to relocate and move to Australia (I know unlikely with our killer spiders and all ), which state/part of the country could you see your home of residence been? Northern Queensland looks so idyllic though, That's one of the parts of Australia that are least appealing to me, because tropical vegetation and tropical climates are nothing special to me. Also, my rule of thumb when it comes to moving to a different country is that it better not be in a place where I would have to take a bath twice a day.

I'd be at the beach all day anyway with my sting ray repellent.

At least you would be used to it though with living in the Philippines as it is. I do agree with what you're saying though. Far North Queensland looks beautiful from the pictures I have seen of it, but I could never live up there due to the high humidity and tropical climate. I've actually got family who live up in Cairns and their electrical bills are really expensive due to them having to turn their air conditioner on almost every single day.

I think @slowpoke1993 likes the look of Nowra. Who doesn’t (except you)? It’s VERY scenic from pictures. The local people seem to be the issue there. You know, for whatever reason, I used to think Tasmania didn't have the man-eating spiders that plagued the mainland, but then you posted a picture with one of them right in your car, and all my dreams and child-like innocence were shattered then. Yeah. Not sure why you were ever under the impression Tasmania didn’t have any man-eating spiders and such. I’d be more worried about the Tiger or Copperhead snake and the Jack Jumper to be honest. I gravitate towards big cities, so it would have to be Sydney or Melbourne for me. I'm not sure which of the two, they both seem to have their own style. I heard Melbourne was more hip, and I do know one person from middle school who lives there. Northern Queensland looks so idyllic though, Tasmania as well. If it weren't for the alligators on the rooftop, snakes in the toilet, spiders in the home, and drop bears and Tasmanian devils in the backyard, I think paradise would look like coastal Australia. Nice. Queensland is idyllic but I couldn’t see myself ever living up there permanently. The high humid climate they experience (particularly in North Queensland) is something I couldn’t handle on a daily basis. Melbourne would be my choice, of course.

The area around Nowra is scenic, it's just Nowra itself that is a hellhole. One day I will get around to taking photos of the real Nowra. I like the way in which this person in the Reddit thread below described Nowra: https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/f98efj/whats_nowra_like_to_live/ The consensus though among everyone is that Nowra is a sh*thole, and they're not wrong: https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/hgn09o/whats_it_like_to_live_in_nowra/

I like the donut part. I have never travelled there so please do take some someday. Include happy snaps of the said local junkies for good measure if you can. Thanks!

Wait, so are you one of those kinds of people that would deal with tropical heat because it means you won't get cold anymore? Because NGL, I used to think like that too about cold climates when I was 12. (Now I think that about mild climates.)

Although speaking of climate, one interesting thing I noticed is that Sydney and Melbourne have a very slighly cooler average summer temps than Southern Ontario, although it's subtle like 28 vs 27 or something. Now if only we could beat it the rest of the year too... I spent an hour shovelling the snow today and there's already a fresh new layer. Also you meant you don't ever want to experience a mild climate?

No, I said it's now mild climates that I think of when I think about avoiding the heat, whereas I used to think like that about cold climates 12 years ago.

I had no problem sitting outside in 35°C in Florida, I thought it was nice. Need air conditioner at home though, and probably not good for exercising. And I went to Disney World in black skinny jeans loll no excuses to look sloppy.

I don't even think of early 20s dewpoints as true humid heat because while they make you sweat, it's slower. (The weather is like that now, but it feels more humid in our apartment because it's a heat trap that faces the sun.)
