I had to shorten my thread title due to this forum having a weird minimum amount of letters for thread titles. Basically what I'm asking is, what is the difference between the Travel & Tourism board and the City/Regional sub-board? I'm failing to see how they should even be separate because you can still discuss City/Regional topics in the Travel & Tourism and vice versa. And how would you know if your thread should be put in just the Travel & Tourism board or the City/Regional board?
I actually didn't realize we had a City/Regional subboard until the Travel & Tourism board was added. I'm failing to see the differences between threads made in the Travel & Tourism board vs. the threads made in the City/Regional board.
For Travel & Tourism, the description is "Discussion of the culture, history, and geography of your own country, as well as other countries around the world." but for the City/Regional, it's "Discussion of general topics relating to specific areas." But aren't culture, history, and geography general topics?

Travel & Tourism board is more inclusive to entire countries, while the City/Regional sub board is for regional subdivisions within those countries.
Examples;
T&T = United States C&R = California
T&T = Canada C&R = Quebec
T&T = Germany C&R = Bavaria
T&T = United Kingdom C&R = Wales
T&T = Italy C&R = Tuscany

I just think it’s a bit unnecessary IMO. It’s not like tons of threads will be made if they were all in one, especially because Popedia isn’t even that big or active. EDIT: I see the differences now, nevermind.

Do you notice how many threads are posted on City/Regional but not Tourism, except for SharksFan99 after it was implemented?
Now you understand why I thought this was a pointless idea.

SharksFan99 was the only person who posted a thread in the Travel and Tourism board after it was added, and even then that thread has only gotten five responses. I don't know about you, but I felt like this should've waited, because Popedia isn't really big and active yet. There wasn't really a problem with the City/Regional board before the Travel and Tourism board was added. Popedia just isn't big and active enough yet for there to be a lot of threads clogged into one subforum. You could say that adding more boards would increase the number of users on here and the number of topics that they can talk about, but so far I haven't seen anything drastic, but then again it's been less than a month since it was added, although I'm not really holding my breath that it will be the cause of more users, especially since it's only one new board that was added.

Yeah. Haha adding boards won’t really do shit. Just an addition of more and more inactive subboards.

I personally don't think that adding more boards would increase the number of users. You'd have to advertise this website or something for that to happen. Adding more boards would increase the number of topics that users could talk about, which could make them stay on the site for a longer period of time.

You already had plenty of options from the start. You can practically talk about anything on here. That’s what Popedia Lounge is for.

Even though some may argue that it would cause the Popedia Lounge to clog up, as I already said before, Popedia isn't really big enough yet to where it's at that point. I just feel like this update would've been more beneficial if we had not only more users but more active users.

Myself personally, I can see both sides of the argument. I think the existing "Travel & Tourism" board will benefit Popedia in the long-term, because it's more clear in it's intended purpose. There wasn't really anything wrong with the "What's Going On?" board as such, however it did contain a lot of sub-boards IMO and the "What's Going On?" title may have confused people about what the board was for. You'd have to advertise this website or something for that to happen. I have been using the paid-advertising feature on Facebook for the past few months, however it unfortunately hasn't resulted in more people signing up. I guess there's no real incentive for Facebook (or any social media) user to join a forum such as this, considering the fact that they can already talk to other people about their interests/hobbies on social media.
