If you look back through what is still available on the Wayback Machine (which I did many years ago to get a feel for MS early days), it seems activity is present in the earlier part of 2002. From memory, a member called “jezza” along with a few other members like “Lepatron” helped start the forum. I think the early years was more focused on members posting caps of TV presenters and such (with a number of disturbing comments about them accompanying it). I think I can remember reading something about that actually. The shift away from posting caps of TV presenters was definitely for the best. A website like that would be publicly shunned on social media and other media-based forum sites nowadays. I'll definitely check out the archives that are on the Wayback Machine. It seems like Media Spy has changed quite significantly over the years!

I have resigned from many fora in the past due to their playground mentality and the amount of idiots given free reign there. I don't see myself ever resigning from here though. Even though I am probably the oldest on here, cannot relate to the popular culture of your childhoods and youth and hate the music of the last 25 years, I don't feel out of place. This is brilliant. I'm really glad to hear that.  It's great that you are enjoying it here!

This is the only forum I use now and even have time for, so it’s ok. The community is decent enough.
I desperately want nicer looking emojis to use though...

Uh I guess having more of a variety of expressions to choose from, like eye roll, devil, OK hand, and thumbs up emojis would be awesome! Idk if it would be possible to add iOS emojis but pretty much the majority of those too.

Having been here for a year, I’ve got to say I'm quite satisfied with the way Popedia presents itself. The diversity of topics is great! It’s user base is small, but active enough to engage in meaningful conversations. You will find that people on here are like a family!
