Yes, I am a bit technically challenged on this one so could use some help.
I have around a dozen music videos all in mp4 format and I have tried unsuccesfully several times to burn to Dvd's.
I have Roxio NT6 Creator which can do data discs and Dvd's but each time either the disc won't eject when finished or if it does the Dvd won't read in our Dvd player; I've no idea if there's anything on the disc even - also I tried burning with Windows Media Player but that just said it 'encountered problems'.
One thing that has just come to mind though is, looking at they type of dics I am using, they are DvD-R's - might it be the case that I need the DvD-RW discs? Maybe that's why nothing is happeneing, I'm sure someone here will know so, thanks in advance.

I wouldn't suggest purchasing DVD-RW discs though, as standard DVD players don't have the capability to read DVD-RW discs. As far as I am aware of, the only way to read DVD-RW discs is through a DVD Recorder. Some computers can also recognise DVD-RW discs, depending on the type of model. I own a 2013 HP Pavilion and it can recognise DVD-RW discs. The only thing I can really suggest is to possibly try burning the MP4 files onto a blank CD. If that doesn't work, you could maybe pick up a few DVD-RW discs and try burning them onto the discs, as a last resort.

Okay, thanks. Sorry I had to ask here - I couldn't find a tech section! Might be just the disc brand that's duff, I have tried the CD route, no dice, also a data disc created player which is a Panasonic multi-thingummy, brand spanking new with cinema surround so you'd imagine it ought to read anything, the data disc showed nothing burned to it on the laptop despite it telling me it had succesfully burned to it.

No worries. We had a Tech Hub sub-board only recently, but it was merged into the "Popedia Lounge", as it wasn't receiving a lot of activity. That's a good point. It may only be the brand of the discs which is causing the issue. Like you mentioned, it mustn't be the set-up or the Panasonic device at all, as you'd expect it to work perfectly fine.

Thanks, I will try a different brand of DVD-R and maybe scour the web for other forum advice. I do have a wonderful forum I belong to where I could ask... but I'd look silly you know - they're all tech genuises on there.

Something I do is put them on a USB first, then go USB to VCR and then VCR to DVD. That's a bit more complicated and time consuming though. Always work though.
