I believe in God but I don't follow a religion, if that makes sense.
I believe that there is a creator that it's too difficult to sum up in words but I'll just call God, to make things simpler. God isn't the dude in the sky or something like that, to me God is more of a presence that I regard as a parent and also a best friend. I also believe that there is a devil that is the cause of all the bad in the world, not God. So I don't follow the saying "acts of God" re natural disasters or such. God lets it happen, but as to why, I can't answer that.
I disagree with a lot of religious groups when it comes to treating minorities. I used to go to a church, but I left kinda because I didn't like how they treated LGBT like a joke. I'm in that category myself, and I think you can be gay or bisexual or transgender and also believe in God. I believe God loves every person regardless of who they are, what they have done or will do in the future, even if they never believe in God. And so, I have no right to judge or condemn anyone.
I also don't subscribe to the teachings that you need to be devout to God to go to heaven or anything like that. I think that once you believe in God, you will go to heaven and nothing can ever change that. Not turning to another religion, not killing yourself, not even if you do the worst things in the world. We've all done things wrong and I think there's no such thing as being "more of" a sinner than anyone else. Just as there's no such thing as being "holier than thou" or anything. The important thing, to me, is that God loves me. It has nothing to do with how much I love God, because I'm not perfect.
This must be the most I've ever talked about this topic, but I think that more or less sums up what I believe

Hey SharksFan99, have you heard of a man named Emmanuel Swedenborg? There's one blog site, Spiritual Insight For Everyday Life, which is hosted by Lee & Annette Woofenden, that goes over Swedenborg's teachings as well as a more spiritual and intellectual view of the Bible, that I believe offers a new, light hearted view of Christianity. I believe it's perfect for those who want to be spiritual but have been scared off by ultraconservative, legalistic, fundementalist Christianity. Here are a few blogs of his I think you should check out; Who was Swedenborg? What Should I Read?Is Jesus Christ the Only Way to Heaven? Is Christianity an Abusive Relationship with God?Homosexuality, the Bible, and Christianity: A SummaryThe Bible: Literal Inerrancy vs. Divine Depths of MeaningDo the Teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg take Precedence over the Bible?

No. I do not believe because there is no evidence Science can't answer everything. How did everything in the universe come to be? What was here before nothing? What was here before all matter and energy existed? Before all atoms existed? Before ANYTHING existed? It didn't just come out of nothing. It would make sense that our universe was created by an eternal God.

Just because something is eternal that doesn't mean there was never a time when it was nonexistent. Something can just come and then last forever with no ending at all. Like completely endless. It will never ever end no matter what. I understand where you're coming from but I feel extremely confused.

With all due respect, there are several things which religion doesn't answer either. How did God came to be and why is he in the position that he is in? Everything has to start from somewhere.
