Thought this would be a good idea for a thread. How would you rank these 6 forums, in terms of a positive atmosphere? Which forum seems to be the most friendly and/or mature, and which one seems to be the most toxic? Here are the forum sites I'd like y'all to rank; - City Data - IGN - inthe00s - Personality Cafe - Quora - Reddit
Popedia is optional, as are other forums if you know about them and want to include them in the list. For my own list, I'm also going to include these forums. These are my "optional" choices;
- Steve Hoffman Music Forum - Newgrounds - Popedia
Here's how I'd rank them;
1. Quora 2. City Data 3. Popedia 4. inthe00s 5. Steve Hoffman Music Forum 6. Personality Cafe (distant) 7. Reddit (double distant) 8. IGN 9. Newgrounds

I won't include Popedia (as it would be bias for me to do so), but here is how I would rank other forums I visit:
1. Quora (I mainly just browse Quora). 2. City-Data 3. Personality Cafe 4. Reddit 5. inthe00s 6. Media Spy (I rarely post on there, because the admins of that site treat their members poorly) 7. IGN

I feel City-Data is quite harsh. There are some people that complain incessantly about the city they live in or other cities, and others take this personally and start attacking them, and it just deteriorates from there. It's not all bad of course but it doesn't really exude a calm and relaxed atmosphere, to me at least. I would say Popedia and some language learning forums I go on are the most positive/calm. inthe00s is somewhere in the middle. The people there are mostly nice but positivity isn't exactly what the forum is known for, particularly when talking about present times. In terms of gaming forums, I find Resetera to be really negative and tense. They tend to over-politicize video games and become very opinionated. BUT it is by far the most tolerable video game forum because of its strict moderation. Jeuxvidéo is the only other gaming site I go on. It's in French, and it's completely trashy. French IGN basically. I don't go on the forums anymore, I just read the articles.

I very rarely go on City-Data, to be honest, and in the rare instance where I actually do go on it, it's only to read the Australia and New Zealand sub-board. I've always had the impression that City-Data had a relatively calm atmosphere, but again, I guess I don't read the other boards on the forum.

I know i'm bias in saying this, however I personally think Popedia has the most close-knit forum community out of any forum I visit. It can probably be contributed to the fact that there are 25-30 of us who log on each day, but even if you don't take that into consideration, the forum has a very calm and positive atmosphere to it. It's almost as if we are all friends with each other.

The Toronto board seems to be mostly lonely people blaming the city for their personal life problems. It's like inthe00s except instead of blaming the current decade, they blame the city In terms of gaming forums, I find Resetera to be really negative and tense. You actually find that place tolerable? Actually, now that I've installed the user-made 'Hide Threads' plugin, I enjoy browsing the forum now. I'm now working on a similar plugin for inthe00s. Stay tuned!

It's great for discussions, and one of the better places for the GenDec community.
Is that what we're calling it now?

Here's how I'd rank the five forums I go on or have gone on. Don't take this as fact, because this is only my own perspective of the forums. 1. Popedia:There's not a lot of toxicity at all. The environment is peaceful, the discussions for the most part are productive, and their isn't anywhere near as many fights as their are on Personality Cafe and inthe00s. It also helps that the community here is still small and we're in close contact with the SharksFan99 and the other mods. A few notable times of having toxicity here are when prodanny288 and cooldudez banter and derail threads, Wobo starting an argument with @prodanny, my Wobogate thread, which spawned gossip about Wobo, and Wobo was upset at me for making the thread. 2. Reddit:The discussions are mostly peaceful without much arguments, from what I've seen, as I don't go on their very often. The only subreddits I've been on are r/genz and r/2000s.
3. inthe00s: It's great for discussions, and one of the better places for the GenDec community. The conversations are great and this is the best place for the GenDec community, but there are many fights. Decadeology has caused many arguments with people who actually practice decadeology themselves trying to stop decadeology.
They got rid of name changes and CatwomanofV told me that if I create another account, I'll banned. I personally don't like the pseudonym "Dr. Incognito" anymore, I'd just like to use my first name, "Tim", but the only way I can continue to use inthe00s is if go by the pseudonym "Dr. Incognito", which I don't want to do, and it made me delete my account and stop using the site. Personality Cafe and Popedia let me change my name, but not inthe00s. I know I've kept changing my name, but come on man, I really don't want to go by "Dr. Incognito", me making a bunch of accounts and changing usernames was stupid of me and I wish I didn't do it, because now this is happening.
4. Personality Cafe:The generations sub forum, is very toxic, with discussions, usually made by newcomers, that make me cringe my face off. We've had two or three new 90's/00's kid threads made recently by new members who don't know any better, and we have another thread of a 2001 baby saying they relate more to Gen Y than Gen Z. The "Gen Z Accuracy" thread is the most redundant thread with the same brainless points being uttered in a circle of retardation. Mrblack, while most of the time he's alright, he's said ridiculous shit like "2000's babies are running these forums", and also makes weird comparisons to 2000's babies and Gen X, and for whatever reason, he thinks 90's babies views Gen X and 2000's babies as failed generations, which just isn't true and doesn't make sense.
The mods of the Generations subforum, One Voice ( Maybe ) and flyincaveman just don't seem to care about the Generations sub forum, and anything goes. You'd have to get their attention before they do anything. Threads get locked when you report it, and if you don't, they won't care. On inthe00s or Popedia, the mods tend to look around and participate in the threads a bit. As for the other sub forums, they're alright and the community is great, there's a variety of people from different walks of life, which makes the generations sub forum fun sometimes, because you can attract people from other sub forums to post on your thread. Popedia and inthe00s don't have this advantage, they're only one community, whereas PerC has a multitude of communities. 5: IGN:I don't go on here too often, but I've seen a lot of arguments on IGN. 90's kid debates on their are ugly. I've seen threads of 80's babies getting on early-mid 90's babies cases when the call themselves 90's kids. Hell, they tend to use more conservative age ranges, like they'll end childhood late as 16 or 18. I left Personality Cafe in November of 2016. I found andrewyu2005 to be very annoying. I joined in August 2017 and have been on and off with it. Andrewyu2005, to this day, after getting negative reception from it, still posts generation spans, with his most recent one being posted days ago in the Generation Z Span Accuracy thread, he uses NBA videos and talks about piano models in his most recent generational span for some reason. I have no words for this, it's just....
