Inspired by the "Top-10 favourite songs from each '00s year" thread, what would be your favourite year for music of the 2000s? Personally, my favourite year for music of the 2000s would be 2001. Not only was it the year that System of a Down's Toxicity was released, it also saw the release of songs such as "Hanging By a Moment", "In Too Deep", Alien Ant Farm's cover of "Smooth Criminal", "The Middle", as well as several other songs that I like. It wasn't a particular great year for music overall, but it contains several of my favourite songs from the 2000s. It's a shame that I was only two years old at the time.

2007 because of Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, & T-pain saved the year.

2003 would definitely be one of the best years for music in the 2000s, IMO. A lot of songs from that year make me feel very nostalgic.

With the exception of 2007, the early 2000s were definitely the best part of the decade in terms of music.

Pretty suprised to see 2009 leading so far as it is generally despised in music circles for being a poor year for releases overall.
Went with 2001 which had lots of amazing albums and classic singles galore, closely followed by 2004 (which is severly underrated on here) and 2007.

I would personally rank the 2000s years like this: 1. 2001 2. 2007 3. 2003 4. 2002 5. 2000 6. 2005 7. 2006 8. 2008 9. 2004 10.2009 Pretty suprised to see 2009 leading so far as it is generally despised in music circles for being a poor year for releases overall. I agree. Admittedly, I only like about 4-5 songs that were released in 2009.
