Now that it's been a month, do you all think the site has gotten better since the update on this topic or do you think its still getting worse? I actually think it is getting worse, to be honest. For instance, when I looked at the "Recent Posts" list at around 11.30pm last night, the oldest post on the list was from over 8 hours ago. It's definitely not as active as it was just a few months ago. Oh okay. I'm not sure, to be honest. I haven't seen him post on inthe00s for quite a while now, so maybe he has been banned from the site.

There are now only a few handfuls of users that post every day while others post every 2 or 3 days or even once a week. Not only that, but there's also less range of topics to discuss and it seems to be the same ones over and over that we have already talked about. Either that or he deleted his account some time ago.

Yep. It would be interesting to know what has contributed to inthe00's overall decline in activity. Maybe people are simply starting to become disinterested in the forum? I know people can be busy with work and/or school, but I personally don't think it's the reason for it. The exact same thing is starting to happen to Popedia as well, IMO. Certain members are not posting as regularly as they used to and as a result, the forum is starting to become less active.

I've been focusing on my career and some big life decisions. Not enough hours in the day unfortunately

Although, to be honest, I didn't have you in mind when I was referring to the members who aren't as active as they used to be. I may as well speak about it publicly since we are on this topic. The members I had in mind are pretty much already known to not be as active as they once were. For instance, EyewitnessTV used to make several posts a day and he hasn't logged on over four months. Stay Puft also hasn't been as active as he used to either, because he acknowledged in a thread not too long ago that he is starting to lose interest in the pop culture discussions.

If you were a new member in 2015/2016, it will hit you. 2015/2016 was one of the best times for new users/InThe00s because we were at the peaks of our nostalgia. I think this is what it comes down to that solidifies appeal that will fade. Eventually, we just outgrew it.

Some people have tried to convince the staff members of that site to allow you to return and it doesn't look like anything is going to change. What's done is done.

I've decided to unlock this topic. I'll be honest, part of the reason as to why I locked it in the first place is because I thought it was essentially giving inthe00s free publicity. However, I've since come to the realisation that you obviously can't stop people from talking about other sites and certain forums/websites are referenced on Popedia anyway, so it makes sense to unlock this.

I didn't start getting nostalgic until my late 20's and early 30's, so when I joined in 2014 I happened to join at a time when everyone was suspicious of new users due to a trolling streak.

My nostalgia peaked when I was 25/26. InThe00s, 2015/2016 was a great time for us born early/mid 90s because that was when the chain was perfect to where all of interests perfectly mashed. Sorry it didn't workout for you.

Don't want to trash talk it, but the website has grown increasingly tired for me. Lately a lot of it has turned around nonsensical rambling and substantless discussions around whatever non-sequential news is coming out. Dunno if it's the decadological bandwagon growing thin on its own, or the pandemic has numbed out everyone, or I've just got tired of it.
The forum in 2018/2019 might have had loads of repetitive observations of the 2010s, but at least the discussions felt a lot more compelling and attention grabbing to be worth a reaction. These last few months, everytime I go on there I'm immediately met with a giant "meh" reaction.

inthe00s is super easy for bumping threads that are a few year old, and people just notice right away if you bump an old thread.
