Back in the Late 2000s, I likely would have agreed that Blu-Rays would replace DVDs as the dominant form of home media. However, from a 2018 context, I actually feel as though streaming will eventually make both DVDs and Blu-Rays (and all forms of physical media) redundant. It's arguably already happening. K-Mart made the decision to stop selling DVDs, CDs and Blu-Rays earlier in the year. I personally think other stores will follow suit in the next few years.

Its kinda hard to say to be honest. By the time Blu-Rays started to catch on they became obsolete thanks to online streaming. I feel like Blu-Ray didn't really have enough time to kill DVD. Tbh I'm pretty sure both DVD and Blu-Ray are on their last legs.

Isn't Blu-ray just a relic from the late 2000s?

Isn't Blu-ray just a relic from the late 2000s? Haha, they pretty much are, when you think about it. I actually don't recall seeing too many people purchasing Blu-Ray Discs during the Early 2010s (or any other era, for that matter), even after they had gone down in price. Their peak in popularity was basically confined to the Late 2000s, which is ironic, since they were too expensive for most people at the time.
