Maybe my perception of the decade's relevance can simply be as a result of my age, but personally, I would actually have to say the opposite. I personally think the pop culture of the naughties feels noticeably dated, for the most part. Most of the trends that went onto define the decade have been out of the limelight for several years now, such as the Emo scene, certain fashion trends (e.g frosted tips, baggy jeans), many of the decade's most popular television shows, as well as obsolete forms of technology (e.g MP3's, flip phones). You’re only saying that I think because the 2000s have long since passed, whereas when you wrote, we were still in the 2010s. But I think the 2010s will actually age much worse in hindsight, especially considering all the myriad of short-lived trends and memes. I already made a post about it. Ironically when Infinity wrote this they didn't know E-boy E-Girl and pop punk was going to be a thing, despite me posting several threads saying Pop punk will be back in late 2019 lol

I think 2010s (and some late 00s) technology will age better. I can see things like smartphones, face ID, virtual assistants and contactless payment still being around in the not so distant future with some upgrades for the time. Most of those things became commonplace in the 2010s I don’t think 2000s fashion or early to mid 2010s fashion will age well. Maybe the fashion from the second half of the 10s will tho Music from the 2000s will probably age better than 2010s music. Distorted trap beats, chopped vocals, and some of the aggressive and synth heavy edm and electropop may not fair to well in the future. Some of it already sounds horrible now, meanwhile 00s pop and r&b still can sound fresh, even if it no longer fits todays trends I don’t think hypebeast/Supreme kind of stuff will age well at all.

2000s will age better. 2010s is just completely trashy and people are going to laugh at the pop culture for being so bad. But I still think there is going to be a lot of nostalgia for it because one it was just before COVID two people get nostalgic for anything after enough time has passed.

People make fun of 80s culture for being cheesy and dumb and yet it was the most nostalgied (is that a real word?) Decade for like, 20 years I'd say the 2000s were way trashier than then 10s

Also, in regards to trashiness, I'll compensate and say the mid-late 2010s were not as trashy as the mid-late 2000s, but, in return, the early 2010s were A LOT trashier than the early 2000s. In fact, the early 2010s make the 2000s AND rest of the 2010s look tame in regards to trashiness. Jersey Shore is the quintessential example of early 10s trashiness.

But I still think the pop culture is pretty trashy and people will still laugh at it because of that.

I just can't see an era that gave birth to Jake/Logan Paul, The Emoji Movie, and 6ix9ine aging well in the slightest.

I kinda agree with you on this one @sharksfan99. The 00s has so much ties with the 20th country were as the 10s is trying to remove all things that were popular in the later half of the 20th country (e.g television, physical media, phonebooks, landlines). That's why it makes me so mad when people mix the 00s with the 10s because people are far more tech-savvy in the 10s then they were in the 00s. Back in the 2000s most people over 40 were clueless on modern technology nowadays you have 60 year olds who are well-versed in technology. Parents today are more likely to have grown up playing video games and listened to rap music than they were in the 00s since most parents rasing kids are Gen xers while in the 00s bombers were the main generation of parents. Everyone has a quality camera nowadays thanks to smartphones, It's more cool now to be a nerd than ever before, being famous no longer requires gatekeepets which makes this decade different from the previous. i think the 2010s were the last decade with Boomer parents who had the old school parenting style like mine. The 2020s has alot of Millennial 80s babies who were gamers in the 90s/2000s and they're parenting style is unique and well very modern. they seem more adaptive and in tune with pop culture and know how to handle technology unlike the Boomers and older Gen Xers of the 00s/10s. I also get the impression that parents back then were more or less worried of the modern world in ways parents today aren't because alot of them we're kids from that era and the originators of all modern technological things of today, less easier for kids to fool
