I would vote yes only if a "not display colors" option is also promised with it. I want to setup a nice purple shade for the others to see, but I don't want to see eye-splitting bright colors everywhere. I've looked into it and unfortunately there isn't a "not display colour" option available. Also, you wouldn't be able to choose your own username colour; the colour of your username would match up with your post rank. For instance, since you are a "senior member", you would have an orange username. When you become a "Popedia Pro", it would change to gold. You can make 2 versions of every theme (or at least the more popular themes), 1 with colours and 1 without. To do the theme without colours, you can set all colours to the same under "Groups and Ranks" tab in the Theme settings.

Yes. It makes the site have more color and flavor
I always knew this future moderator talked sense
I say yes and in the 4 years I've had it like that, not one person has said they don't like it.
....but if it doesn't happen, not like I'm gonna open a vein Opening a vein is most unwise, Paul. I've tried it thrice and it's not pleasant!

I remember the "moderators having different coloured usernames" idea was brought up before, and I'm still against the idea since I know other forums that do something similar, and seeing a post with a red (or other colour) username gives the post more gravity and attention compared to one with a regular colour, and I would hate for that to happen here. I want my post to be given the same weight/attention as everyone else's. I do get what you’re saying. The way to combat that would be for all members to have an assigned colour then? I’m personally not against the idea of introducing a colour-coding system, but I think having all members with different colours just looks kinda “messy” or as SharksFan99 put it “busy”, for want of a better terms. Usually the site staff are colour-coded so they can mainly be easily identified for various important reasons (in theory having a certain colour shouldn’t make that members post any more important or hold extra weight/attention IMO, but certain users may think that I suppose).

Usually the site staff are colour-coded so they can mainly be easily identified for various important reasons (in theory having a certain colour shouldn’t make that members post any more important or hold extra weight/attention IMO, but certain users may think that I suppose). I personally think the most ideal scenario would be to have colour-coded usernames for staff members on the forum homepage (so that first-time visitors can easily identify the staff), but in threads and on plug-ins, the colour-coded system wouldn't be in effect; all members would have the same assigned colour (as is the case at the present time). That way, it would discourage the mindset that staff members posts hold extra weight, while simultaneously achieving the desirable outcome of emphasising the roles of staff members on Popedia. With that said, I do have my doubts if implementing such a system would be achievable. You would have to somehow code the forum so that it doesn't universally recognise the colour-coding system and i'm not sure if that's possible. Someone who has a better knowledge of coding than me may be able to answer that, but if it's something that we collectively come to an agreeance on, we could possibly inquire about it with Proboards. It's something that might be worth considering anyway. As it's becoming apparent, I really think this is something we need to put a lot of thought into before any changes are implemented. We need to strike a fine balance between what is practical and what is actually beneficial for the forum. I'm not sure what your thoughts or the other Popedia Staff members thoughts are on this, but we could send a mass-email to the members who haven't yet expressed their opinion on this proposal. With something as significant as this, I think it would be best if we heard from as many people as possible. We need to make sure that whatever decisions we make are well consulted with our forum community and that we're not just making changes for changes sake.

^^^ If you decide to go that way, I know a way you can code it.
