I was never able to do any of those tricks. All of my attempts would result in my Yo-Yo becoming completely tangled.

Yep I remember this. Was fun. Could you manage any tricks? I was never able to do any of those tricks. All of my attempts would result in my Yo-Yo becoming completely tangled. Not that many knew what they were technically named then, I could manage “looping” and “forward passing” (I think that’s what they were called) and the basic “sleeping” and “walk the dog”.

LOL now that yall mention it YES.
Mine lit up when you used it. I was 3. It was about as long as I was tall. I couldn't use it. I was as crushed as when the shoe store didn't have light-up sneakers in my size.
...Worked as well as the fake Tamagotchi I got in a happy meal.
Wasn't there a Recess episode about yo-yos??

I am going to find my yoyo I really have no idea if I even still have the red one I used in primary school! It’s been so long since I even thought about it and am not sure whether I kept it and stored away in my “nostalgia boxes”. Good luck finding yours! LOL now that yall mention it YES. Yep, the red one I had (which I posted a random photo of on the previous page) lit up in the same colour when it was used from memory. The lights inside either disks would become more intense depending on the speeds with which you were spinning it (at least that was the case with the one I had). I would’ve spent hours with it after some school day perfecting tricks to show to my classmates the following day, lol.

No, but I recall they were still popular in the early-mid '00s. Oh, and I remember Beyblades too.

Oh yes. I remember the Yomega fireball and the Duncan Butterfly were popular models back then.
