Anyone heard Post Malone's new single "Rockstar"? When I first heard it I actually liked the song until I realised that the whole song was just the same line repeated x100 it's already reached no.1 here in NZ and on many other charts I'm pretty sure not surprised though

It's #1 on our chart as well. I actually had a brief listen to it when the song was released, but it's definitely not too my liking. I didn't expect it to be, but I thought I would give it a go anyway. Admittedly, i'm not a fan of rap music as it is, but "Rockstar" is just well and truly awful. I hate how a crappy song like that can become so popular and reach #1 on the charts...

I've heard that song before. It's not a bad song IMO, but then again I like most hip-hop songs 😂

www.billboard.com/charts/hot-100This is the current Billboard Hot 100 chart. Apologies to anyone who is a fan of most of those songs, but I think the chart looks pretty depressing. There's very little variety in the types of songs on the charts and it's pretty much all EDM, trap and country.

Yeah I was just looking at that the other day and I thought how many crap songs are taking up the charts . I'm actually starting to get sick of a lot of the music released this year, EDM started sounding all the exact same, too much trap and alot of the songs just started getting very annoying imo.

Anyone heard Post Malone's new single "Rockstar"? "Rockstar" kept Camila Cabello's "Havana" from reaching #1 in the United States. I'm not so thrilled about that. "Havana" isn't one of the best songs of the year or anything and is particularly brought down by Young Thug's useless guest verse, but it's still a legit pop anthem with great production and a wonderful lead vocal performance. "Rockstar" is a song with a somewhat catchy tune but really lazy execution.

Just out of curiosity, is this song currently popular in other countries? "The Man" has received a lot of radio airplay here over the past couple of weeks, despite the fact that the song has only managed to peak at #65 on the ARIA Chart. In fact, it's being played so often by local radio stations, that i'm starting to get sick of hearing it!

It was actually the final track on Now 98 in the UK, though it only peaked at #63 in that country. It did well on the American rock airplay charts, but I doubt those are really relevant much at all nowadays like they were in the 90s, and the track wasn't on the Hot 100 whatsoever.

That's interesting to hear. Since the song made it onto Now 98 and peaked at #65, it's possible that "The Man" may have received a fair amount of radio airplay over in the UK as well.

I equally like both depending on the music genres. I definetly prefer 00s hip hop over 90s hip hop though I like late 90's hip-hop and 2000's hip-hop. Unpopular opinion, but IMO the 2010's have been one of the best decades for hip-hop. Last year was an amazing year for it.

It was very transitional but it still had many early 2010s aspects while offering us a good balance of mid 2010s trends.
