I loved the early 2010s but it seems too recent to be nostalgic over. It seems too recent to be nostalgic for anything past 2005 to me lol. Maybe you'll feel the same way about 2012+

I have a little bit of nostalgia for 2010, but that's about the full extent of it. Maybe in 2050 i'll finally be full-on nostalgic for the Early 2010s.

I am very nostalgic for 2010-2013, best years of my life. I've got loads of nostalgia to share! First off, Silly Bandz were almost inescapable in 2010! I saw girls wearing them to school and having a collection of each kind . There were even rumors that wearing too many for too long could cut off your arm.. But that didn't stop me from begging my mother for Silly Bandz to keep up with the latest trends. I wore them with no regrets and showed them off to my friends who didn't have as much as I did! Next, Sims 3! Despite coming out in mid 2009 was very much of an early 2010's thing. I remember the hype for the expansion pack Generations and Island Paradise, my two favorites. Sweet Treats expansion pack reminds me of the old Katy Perry from the early 2010's with her bright colored hair and candy theme. I sure miss that. Last Friday Night and California Girls are truly nostalgic songs. Every girl in my school had a Zhu Zhu pet in 2010 where you'd press the button and it would walk on its own. I had a Zhu Zhu pets toy where you'd put the Zhu Zhu pet in the hamster house and it'd walk on its own. My favorite toy growing up!! I got my other friends jealous of me back then. Little me would stick out my tongue and act like I'm the queen of the world. Party Rock Anthem, Gangnam Style, and Harlem Shake were the most inescapable trends of the early 2010's! Not to mention the Cup Song and What Does The Fox Say. I wanted to dress up as a fox for Halloween and ask my neighbors "WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY?!" I was addicted to that song back then and looking back I get nostalgia of my little self singing WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY!!! On Halloween. I miss the early 2010's!

The only pet toys I know/remember being popular are tamogotchi's.

There were almost advertisements for them every second break during the Christmas period of 2009 and throughout 2010. I think some of the girls at my school might have had them. As for Tamagotchis, it's weird Becasue I always see people associate it with the 90s, however I remember it still being a very popular trend throughout most of the 2000s.

Im somewhat embarrassed to admit I watched this, but it's an iconic TV show from that period and arguably the last semi-watchable sitcom to come from Nickelodeon. (Sam & Cat was a disaster)
What are some things that make you nostalgic for the early 2010s?

Not sure why I was never aware of them then. In regards to Tamagotchi's, I can as well. They were still really popular throughout the Early-Mid 2000s. In fact, I even owned one when I was 5/6 years old.

I use to love that show, that and Big Time Rush, so no biggie I was into a lot of the animations that started to come up on YouTube, that and the pop music, it felt more bouncy and energetic. I was also in the Brony fandom during this time (if anyone knows what that is lol) I also remember when iPods and older smartphones and flip phones were still pretty common. If I had to say, 2013 was a weird feeling year due to how it was kind of a mix of early 2010s culture and now to me. These songs brings back a lot of memories, can't go in this thread without mentioning these lol

Even though those songs are at least 5 years old, I still don't really have any nostalgia for them. Maybe it's because I never liked them when they were released and they're still somewhat recent. It's amazing to think that Gangnam Style is 6 years old!

It's amazing to think that Gangnam Style is 6 years old! To me music years wise, they feel kind of dated. Especially thinking how this decade is pretty much almost over lol ikr! Soon people our age will be playing this on the oldies station or at retirement home parties im about 60 years 😂

Although, I still generally don't have any nostalgia for those years, to be honest. Maybe they are too recent. It's funny you should say that, because I've actually thought of that scenario on several occasions! Just imagine what people our age will be like when we are elderly. "Back in my day, I texted people on a thing called a smartphone and listened to great artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran".

I find it hard to believe that early 2010's borns are in elementary. Last time I checked, the early 2010's didn't even happen yet.
