There's been a number of changes made to the forum this afternoon, so I've decided to create a thread to clear up any confusion. You may have noticed that there is now a small row of icons on the bottom-left of the homepage. They should look like this:
The Popedia Shop is a new feature which allows you to deposit or withdraw money (it's fake currency ) to unlock special features for yourself or to play exclusive games on the forum (e.g the Slot Machine).
Bank (The Pig Icon): This is where you can see how much money is in your account. To spend money on the forum, use the withdraw tab pictured in the photo below and withdraw however much money you want to take out of your account. If you have withdrawn money, but feel as though you have withdrawn too much, use the "Deposit" tab to put money back into your bank account.
Stock Market (The Black & White Box Icon): The Stock Market allows you to buy investments (not real ones) in companies. Just like how the stock market functions in the real world, the market can fluctuate in value over time and you could earn a profit or a loss depending on what the marketplace is like. Here is a snapshot from the Proboards Support forum on what the Stock Market feature will look like in time. I haven't properly set it up yet (so it currently serves no purpose at this point in time), but I will let everyone know when the feature is ready to use.
Gift Money (The "Present" Icon): Some members may also notice a "Gift Money" icon. Every member on the forum has been awarded $20.00 to start off with. To receive this gift, click on the icon and you will be redirected to the "Gift Money" page. Click on the "yes" button to deposit the money into your account.
Donations (The "Money Bag" Icon): Feeling generous? Clicking this icon will show you the amount of donations that you have received from people. To donate money to someone, go to the member's profile and click on the "Send Donation" button (as shown below).
To play the game, click on the "Insert Coin" button. It costs $1 to play the game. Then click on "Spin".
Click on the yellow buttons under each row to stop them spinning.
More features/games will be added over the coming days.

How to earn money
It is also possible to earn money by creating new posts/threads on the forum. Every post you make will result in more money being added into your account. This is how it works:
Quick Reply: $3
Reply: $5
New Thread: $10 (If you add a poll to the thread, you will receive an extra $5)
You will not receive any money by posting in the "Games & Trivia" sub-forum. Due to the nature of the topics in the sub-forum, people could earn money just by making one-word responses, which wouldn't be fair to the people who make more substantial posts elsewhere on the forum. It would also take the fun out of the feature and make it less enjoyable.
If you have any questions or you are unsure of something, please feel free to ask. Enjoy!
al aja675 - Because you were the runners-up in the "Fourth of July Content", I have doubled the money that you have received. You should both have a total of $40.
telemelbs aja675 - The plug-in didn't recognise your usernames (for whatever reason) when I tried to give everyone the gift, so I have added the money into both of your "accounts" manually. Telemelbs, you will have an extra $6, because you have made two new "quick replies" since I inserted the $20 into your account.
