Elon Musk is reportedly working on a microchip which would be inserted onto the human brain and allow people to control a computer through the use of their mind. What are your thoughts on this? Would you ever consider getting one?

I would want one. Think about it: in the first world, our biggest obstacle is usually ourselves. No energy, no self-control, not as rational as we hope to be. We are very much creatures of our biology. My hope is that a microchip in our brain will allow us to become the true masters of ourselves. I wouldn't buy a microchip that's connected to the Internet, though. It will be vulnerable to hacking.

No way. Artificial enhancements to your brain would be too much for me. Also I would never trust tech companies with something so interconnected with me.

If we became so reliant on the microchip to process information and make decisions, would we even still be able to function normally in the advent of the microchip not working? The idea of actually inserting a microchip onto the human brain is a recipe for disaster in itself. There are benefits that would come as a result of a microchip aiding us in our day-to-day lives, no doubt, however i'm highly skeptical of the thought that those benefits would outweigh the numerous risks associated with this.
