I think it's pretty sickening that the media are glorifying Schapelle Corby's return to Australia. She is a convicted drug smuggler, yet the media are portraying her as if she is an important celebrity figure. What kind of message does this send to the general public? If you travel overseas, attempt to smuggle drugs, claim that you're innocent, you can achieve fame and lower your prison sentence? That's how it comes across. Not once have the media outlets suggested that her actions are wrong. Her conviction and time in prison seems to have flown over their heads. I know that her case has been ongoing for 13 years, but to have extensive news coverage of her return to Australia is just ridiculous. She can thank the media for not only returning to Australia, but also for still being alive and well. Otherwise, she would have suffered the same fate as the two Bali Nine men, which by the way, is completely ridiculous that she is still alive, but the two Bali Nine men had their lives cut short.
