Basically a followup to the "most constrasting things from the same decade", this time broaded to two decades that are right next to eachother. The comparison can extend to any period of both, so if you wanna contrast the early 60s to the late 70s for example, you can! I know there's almost a 20 year gap here, but it's very interesting of a thought that they're still technically part of neighbouring decades

Great picks, "Cars" is one of my favourite songs from the '70s. Listening to it always makes me think about how futuristic it must have sounded at the time of it's release. I know new-wave had been gaining momentum prior to "Cars'" release, however no other new-wave song from that period exemplifies the increasing use of synths and advances in music production quite like "Cars" did. Even the music video seems somewhat ahead of it's time.
Anyhow, here are some examples I can think of:
A look at how mainstream rock evolved between the turn of the millennium and arguably the most defining year of this decade's pop culture; 2015.

This one blows my mind. The Aristocats truly feels like old-school Disney (like something that could have been released in the 50s), while the Little Mermaid has a much more modern feeling to it. The animation of LM has also aged much, much better than the Artistocats which would have been looking archaic by the 90s.
