This is my first thread. Since it's now September, the year is for the most part over and we can tell how the year has been so far. 2019 in my opinion hasn't been much better than 2018 but it's a slight improvement and I mean it when I say SLIGHT improvement. 2018 is my least favorite year of the 2010s and will probably forever stay that way. Back to 2019, unfortunately trap is still the face of music this year but there have been some good songs like Talk and Old Town Road (I know a lot of people hate this song but it grew on me). I also like that some old artists made comebacks in 2019. This year hasn't been good for movies besides Endgame and Toy Story 4, just way too many remakes of classic movies such as The Lion King and Aladdin. Also, Fortnite and TikTok are somehow still popular. What do you guys think of 2019 compared to 2018? Is it better or worse than 2018?

I'm usually very biased about these kinds of threads. If you ask me, both years at stationary between which one is better than the other at this point. The pop culture remains basically the same, music isn't much different and there is no transition going on. We will probably see some type of shift in 2020. Now in terms of personal life, 2018 was a little better than 2019, but summer 2019 was more fun for me than in 2018.

I honestly think that 2019 has been a bit better than 2018. 2018 was very terrible imo. 2019 was like the calm after the storm.

2019 is a mixed bag. On the other hand I'm happy to be a senior so that's good news, but I have to deal with a lot of responsibilities that I didn't have in 2018.

I liked 2018 better both personally and pop culturally, to be honest.

We as a country are getting politically worse the further we get into the Trump administration. Women's reproductive rights are at risk. Minorities are being shot by police. Children are being thrown into cages. If Trump gets eight more years in office, we will be in danger of returning to a 1950s society.

I would say 1940s and below were more traditionalist.

Better because Devil May Cry 5 came out this year.

I also agree in retrospect that it was a better year, though I honestly felt that way living through the year. After the bullshit 2016-2018 brought us, experiencing a year that was relatively calm and happy was a definite breath of fresh air. Avengers Endgame only further added to how great it was.

Sums it up. 2019 is much more lighthearted and calm than surrounding years(2016-2018) and (2020-2022). Not much toxic political stuff but at the same time COVID and the floyd riots hadn't happened yet.
