i rarely hear people talk much about 2017 while legendary games like Breath of the Wild and Odyssey came including indie games like cuphead and good movies like CoCo. I think 2017 was pretty fun and a awesome year. I actually don’t mind going back, i miss the hype for the switch and odyssey so going back would be awesome.

I feel like both 2015 and 2016 will be the most fondly remembered years of the 2010s in the future, especially 2016. I actually feel like 2013 will be forgotten because I barely hear people talk about that year, but they always talk about 2010-2012 and 2014-2016.

I think that the early 2010s will be extremely nostalgic for people as well.

I can understand this. I didn't really like the pop culture of 2017 and I saw it as unappreciated. I personally didn't like the year myself. I mostly feel like the late 2010s will be underrated including 2018 and 2019. I know for sure that the early 2010s and mid 2010s are already overrated because of the nostalgia especially from the mid-late 2000s borns who had their childhood in the mid 2010s. Same goes with the early-mid 2000s borns who had their childhood in the early 2010s, but the early 2010s have been fawned over already for a few years.

I never really got the hype for the mid 2010s, it is overrated.

It's probably still a bit too soon for most people to perceive 2017 without any existing negative impressions. Give it another 2-3 years, I guarantee that people will start to see it through rose-tinted glasses.

While I personally liked the year and thought it had some great music and movies, it just wasn't as memorable as 2014 and 2016 imo. Those are like the iconic 2010s years lol.

Years that end in 7 are always kind of in an identity crisis. Are they mid or are they late in the decade? Usually they embody both which makes them awkward to firmly form associations with.
As for 2017, it's not hugely different from today. Most of the big cultural points haven't faded enough to get nostalgic for. The tv shows might have just gotten over, the movies are still hot on Netflix, the clothing trends have been normalized, the songs are finally dropping from rotation and feeling overplayed, etc.

2016 is my least favorite mid-2010s year.

Not really, 2007 does have a lingering mid 00s feel but it felt more late 00s. I agree that years that end with 7 have an identity crisis just like years that end with 3.
