Which era do you prefer? 1970-74 or 1975-79?

Definitely 1975-79. The pop culture of this era simply interests me more and it was also the period in which the greatest number of my favourite songs from the '70s were released, such as The Sex Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK", The Cars' "Just What I Needed" and "Surrender" by Cheap Trick. I quite like a lot of the new-wave and power-pop songs from the second-half of the '70s.
Music aside, the second-half of the '70s were also a significant time in the continued development of the video game industry, with the release and popularity of classic games such as "Pong" and "Space Invaders". I actually wouldn't mind checking out the Late '70s if it was possible to travel back in time.

The early ‘70s for sure. The hippies still had some fight in them, the culture had not yet been poisoned by populist conservatism (a product of Rumsfeld and the boys funding that stuff, by the way), and we were deep into the prog era. Also, exploitation films of the late ‘70s just suck.

All of the '70s is cool, but I think I like the late '70s more if only for all the amazing punk rock music.

Music-wise, it's hard to pick between the funk/soul/progressive rock/psychedelic early 70s and new wave/punk rock/disco late 70s, they're both great times for music. Only the mid 70s stand out as pretty poor in comparison.

The second half of the 70s. There was some sense of optimism during that time. On top of that everybody was having fun for the most part. The first half had good pop culture but everything else felt kinda similar to today’s landscape with all of the cynicism going on.

On top of that everybody was having fun for the most part. Yeah, I bet the oil shortage was a gay old time.

1975-1979 Lots of new different music coming out Punk, Disco, New Wave, Rap. Seems like an exciting time. And Vietnam was OVER! Home video cameras as opposed to film, VCRs, Home Computers, Video Games, cable TV beginning to be popular ect...ect. The later 70s just had so much new and exciting stuff to offer compared to the first half.
